WT please fire your marketing people. I've received "specials" emails every day since the I made one purchase. Nobody needs that many floor mats. Trying to unsub, the page loads with so many trackers and other crap that it crashes because of my ad-blocker and DNS filter.

I was able to make it work in Librewolf but this is the kind of thing that drives away customers.

Idk if media rants are allowed on here but didn't know where else to post.

For context righteous gemstones is a comedy about the children of a mega church pastor who try to succeed him and lead the church despite there horrible personalities. Generally makes fun of the hypocrisy of these rich church pastors pretty well.

The first episode of the newest season is a flashback to the civil war and the origins of the family. It opens with the ancestor of the gemstones shooting a southern pastor preaching about "states rights" after the service. At first I thought this would be great, this guys gonna go around killing confederates like django. Sadly no he just did it to rob the pastor then goes on to impersonate him as a pastor for the confederates on the Frontline. The rest of the show centers on him being a horrible pastor and focuses on how bad this con man is compared to the soldiers. It then ends with the union capturing his unit and committing a war crime by executing all of them except him.

The depiction of the civil war is completely white washed and focuses on making the confederate soldiers sympathetic children suffering and dying for there country. Slavery is never mentioned, there are no slaves or black people shown, none of the confederates even say anything racist.

I understand that portraying all the confederates as ultra racists with every other word out of there mouth being the n word would be inaccurate. It would've been funnier if they did and then we watched them get mowed down by the union, but for some reason this episode they tried to be serious. If you are going to be serious and pretend like this is an accurate portrayal then whitewashing them is just as bad as painting them as evil racists. I get there trying to humanize people often cast as the bad guys but removing there flaws isn't humanizing, it's veneration.

The rest of the season seems to be fine and pretty unrelated, so if you do want to watch it go ahead and skip the first episode, wont miss much unless you want to learn about the lost cause myth and how a lot of southerners still view the war.

This one is a little bit less obvious

Has anyone else seen this? This seems to be a common pattern lately. Companies will list all their products:

Product X1 Product X2 Product Y1 Product Y2 Product R42 Product F25

... but they don't have a page explaining what the difference between the X line, Y Line, R Line, and F Line actually are. Let's say they are gadgets. Would it hurt them in any way to simply say the X line prioritizes speed, the Y line is backwards compatible with legacy gadgets, the R line is meant for business use, and the F line is experimental form factors. How do you not think to put this info on your page?

Has started to grind my gears, since there is no way to quickly explain that I'm happy with the current situation (I live in the nordics, not the US). Historically I would be considered a conservative, since I don't see a need to progress (atleast at an accelerated rate). However that term is now used to define reactionaries, which are people who reacting to the changing society wants to regress to a earlier time.

Why must we change the meanings of such obvious words?

So the names of the options literally translate to:

Row Above
Row insert beneath
Colums Left
Insert Column Right

Not only are they named inconsistently and only partially translated. The capitalization is also seemingly random.

The transport passes 20 minutes earlier without previous warning, leaves without waiting for me, as I was not ready yet, and I end up getting paid less.

They didn't even think of counting that day as a day off...

Fucking wonderful.

I understand returned payment fees for checks, but I’ve never been charged for having a credit card decline.

Stupid of me to sign up for auto-payment when I use my credit card for gas, I guess.

I switched to windscribe last month because the proton CEO starting spewing politcal BS, and I wanted port forwarding that wasn't locked behind a shitty GUI.

As far as I was concerned setup was super easy, the VPN speeds were great, and port forwarding worked really nicely. The whole price for a fixed server and port forward, + unlimited data was a bit much (at $95/year) but for the ease of use and speeds I was getting, I was happy to stick with them.

My setup is a always-on server with a 1gbps connection, where yes, I fucking seed my shit, all of it. I have about 30TB of linux ISOs and counting, and it's rare that my combined upload speed is less than 1MBps, ever.

Which lead me to getting banned from windscribe with no notice or warning in the middle of last week. This lead to me having to spend tracker points to avoid HnR, and i'm also unable to grab any new ISOs until I find a new VPN provider that won't ban me for actually using the service full time.

I did shoot them an email (after talking' with their AI bot first), and they were actually helpful enough. The offered to restore support, so long as I promised to not torrent with them again (which, I honestly did promise not to. I'm not sticking with a VPN service that can't handle me actually using it for what it's advertised for) and they did unban the account. Whole email chain took about three days to get resolved.

My sticking point is that they still have instructions on setting up torrents on their own website, and that they specifically allow for unlimited data (with the plan i paid for) so long as it's just one user. I did not break those rules. After clarifying that in the support email, they still said that I was using too much data (despite the unlimited data advertisement) and that torrenting was not allowed on their service.

TL:DR: Windscribe bans you if you use a lot of data, and support says torrents aren't allowed, despite their website advertising such. Proof in the attached images.

If y'all have any other suggestions for a VPN that allow port forwarding i'd really appreciate it.

Update: it took time. And then a quick pry with a knife. Saved the dishes. Ravioli saved too but for raccoons outside probably lol. What I learned about physics....sheesh.

I said that I hope Elon Musk dies. Didn't say anything about how he dies. I just hope that he does.

This is my third ban in the past couple months, all for the same reason; I hope Elon Musk dies.

Last night, I accidentally ordered a pair of pants while trying to get an estimate on shipping speed. Not only is the shipping going to take much longer than I'd hoped, I realized afterwards that I had the wrong size as well. No big deal, I thought, I'll cancel the order.

Well, you can't on their website. So I had to wait until this morning to call. I called them up as soon as they opened, hoping to get someone before the pants shipped out. And I did! Only, they still can't cancel the order. They have to ship the pants across the country to me, and then I have to ship them back across the country to return them. The person I talked to even offered to print out the return label, and ship it with the pants!

Such a wasteful, broken system. I can only imagine it works the way it does to make people who have second thoughts on a purchase have to jump through additional hoops to cancel it.

I know this is happening because of a combo of my browser (librewolf) and my extensions (uBlock and Privacy Badger), but really it's because most larger concert halls in the USA and the ticket service they use online are owned by the most evil fucking corporation and I am fucking sick of it. I was going to buy tix for a local punk band's show but now my choices are:

  • I have to drive 30 minutes to buy tix in person, Monday-Friday
  • or sell my soul to these assholes

Just venting, no suggestions needed.
