Everything felt like they didn't last nearly as long as they could've. You were shuffled a lot during a school day and you had so much crammed in to do within those 8 hours that you're there.

I never liked school for the courses and all that. I liked school because of who I hung around and some of the memories I got through them.

It's mainly because when everyone saw the "oh shiny" tech at first, they rushed it out as soon as possible with intent to replace people so that they can get away with doing less through AI.

Piss off with your entitlement.

So here we're gonna just shovel out all of the cheap and selectively costly licenses on our services for you to watch. All so we can proclaim VaRiEtY.

Oh that show you remembered way back when? Fuck it, don't know or don't care! You'll pay for what we selected for you and you'll enjoy it.

Braindead streaming logic.

True but the guy was the one at fault and Proton had to comply. The French Activist was using ProtonMail e-mail for bad usages which is what it boiled down to. You left out the part where they complied with Swiss government yes but they didn't with the French authorities.

Yet it still comes down to people's own responsibility. But people love to throw that out the window and expect everything to protect them when they get up in shit.

The one and only critique I'll give to Proton is how they have it where you can have Google e-mails forwarded to you to your Proton address.

And it's like...why? The entire reason you're going to ProtonMail is to escape Google. Why the hell would you want Google to try and pry into your Proton usage when all you want is to distance yourself from them?

That's not a bad thing. Maybe some of us don't want to be cluttered with a lot of things we don't really care for on using. God forbid we go back to simpler days of communication whereas now we've got things like Discord trying to charge people to pay actual money to have fancy little animations for your profile picture.

Is that what you think is missing? Stupid pointless things that make you feel special because you paid money for it when the true attraction should be focused on how much communicating can be efficient and caring about your privacy and security?

Did you not see the score for my original comment? 43 unanswered downvotes. How can you sit there and tell me that there's going to be an open and civil discussion that'll come from with that? I've already had a few people throw the stone with their illogical commentary about what I've pictured with their frail attempts to defend their favorite browser.

And I got all of that, just from stating the original comment I said prior to the edit. But the 'go to hell' part was not the original comment.

So before more people jump down my neck about being civil, you ought to know what other people float about that go about antagonizing users or expecting negativity to come their way before they cry out to admins and mods, for something they gaslighted to!

...Do some research before you ever utter people's names in a list again.

Bless the era of technology where Signal and ProtonMail exist.

Trying to close an obnoxious ad

I think for me it's retro games, specifically. I used to have been in the used video games market for 5 years from 2008 to 2012. My goal was to construct a personal video game collection, physical copies of games I personally enjoyed growing up.

I was registered on a game trading site which served as the base of my business, I've made rounds of thrift store hopping and any used games market I could find locally. I've struck amazingly good deals and I might've had luck on my side a few times (for example, a guy on that game trading site gave me a free copy of Super Metroid that I got to choose for a minor mistake he felt he needed to honor.)

And I felt like I was incredibly close to completing my personal collection until 2012, I ran into some dumb drama with my sister and ex girlfriend back then. They racked up the cable bill in my name that I was trying to cancel and they wouldn't let me cancel it until I turned in all equipment. And I was jobless at the time too, having lost my job. So I needed to sell some things and sure enough, had to sacrifice my entire collection at the time that I spent 5 long years building.

I never recovered since and this was during the golden period where it was still fairly fun to collect and everybody wasn't pretending to be a pawn shop.

I would try continuing what collection of games I've tried to build, through Steam but it wasn't the same. Nowadays, the used video games market has turned into just a platform full of resellers, pawn brokers and stingy greedy collectors.

I find it very cheapening that people treat games like they're just tools of trade. They mean nothing and they're treated like nothing except to make a quick buck, however possible.

It's only worsened thanks to Goodwill and similar thrift stores, getting in on it where everyone pays too much attention as to what the prices go for on EBay and VGPC.

And we have WATA involved that hasn't made things better. Thanks for shitting on an honest hobby, assholes.

And god do I hate every second of it. My bank is the worst offender, because they allow me to log in, look at my balances and everything. It is until I decide to transfer funds from savings to checking, do they suddenly decide "WAIT! VERIFY YOUR IDENTITY!". All the while that I'm logged in!

Trying to call customer support to a car dealership to discuss changing dates on your lease? Welp, be prepared to know your child's name, your state, your blood sample and all other shit just to reach an agent so you can ask one simple question.

Google sucks balls for this too, obviously. Can't just simply sign in anymore, nope, gotta go find your phone and tell that, that it's you trying to log in and then you can go in.

Not to mention the amount of fucking codes we have to enter along the way. This shit piles up, people. We waste minutes to hours, collectively, on doing this shit.
