To preempt the inevitable: no, companies do not take your donations and then use them as a tax write off to somehow profit. That's a myth. That's not how taxes work. Those donations are yours and you can claim them on your taxes. Yes, really.

Rules:
- Be civil and nice.
- Try not to excessively repost, as a rule of thumb, wait at least 2 months to do it if you have to.
That's exactly what a CEO would say hmmm
They definitely don't profit but don't donations lighten a corporation's tax liability?
No. They literally just said that's not how it works.
I always ask if there's a price match from the company which there often isn't.
The few times they say yes, I follow up with asking if there's a cap on the match.
If there's a match and no cap, I'll usually donate.
But 1,000,000 fuck nos to donation if there isn't a match or if they are capping that shit.
I said that to my wife at Petsmart just yesterday. They asked on the register to donate to some pet charity and I said, "why can't Petsmart just use some of their bajillion dollars in profits to pay for it? Why are they asking me to give money to their charity when I've already paid them money?"
Funny, Sneakers is cınsidered expensive in my country. #ThanksErdogan
I'm sorry you have to endure that man child's populist politics :/
But I wouldn't consider Snickers to be a cheap dinner either. For the same money you can easily buy some rice and a few veggies and have an actual dinner instead.
Me who exclusively uses self checkout and never does this (in no small part due to the no button being bright red.)
Just say no. The cashier doesn’t need your snark.
Bruh, you are lost. This is /c/memes, not real life
You're telling me, that the text you wrote for the title was just an imaginary conversation that happened in your head? It's not real?!
This life is not real. We are each a flit of an image in an Eldritch God's dream. Life is meaningless. There is a reason that our central nervous system looks like a jellyfish-type thing. It is because we are truly made in our slumbering god's image and our bodies are only vessels to hide this image from other, awake gods. The god only knows slumber. And memes.
But what makes a meme, a meme? Or funny in this case. Most if not all good memes have to be relatable, so your meme is kinda related to real life. I mean, for some people, your meme is relatable in their life.
It's relatable in the sense that many would like to say that but don't
So many would like to say no when asked for donations but didn't for whatever reason? Hard to argue on this one since it's subjective, but personally, I surely wouldn't find it difficult to say 'no thanks'.
I meant the title
That’s fine, but in real life, save the smart ass comments for memes.
So, then, exactly what happened?
"do i look like i have 5$?"
Yes, I'll donate it to my savings. Thanks for asking
