Time After Time - Cyndi Lauper.

Yes, I'm old.

But it does depend what kind of mood I'm in, and what kind of soothing I need.

In some cases: Chaser EP - Femtanyl.

Sometimes if I'm stressed I play guitar and something I quite often play is Time After Time!

[–] [email protected] 2 points 3 weeks ago

If you played Femtanyl, I'd be really impressed :D

It is such a perfect album. My personal favorite closely followed by Recovering the satellites.

Most songs by dire straits, particularly ride across the river. Also definitely not heavy fuel

If I’m feeling angsty I like early Nine Inch Nails

If I just want to chill then maybe “The K&D Sessions”

Ralph Vaughan Williams - The Lark Ascending (I'm partial to Hilary Hahn's 2004 performance with the London Symphony Orchestra directed by Colin Davis).

I recently discovered the piano and violin version of this, rather than the full orchestral version. It's much more intimate and would be my choice for a more soothing experience. The orchestral version is so emotional for me, that sometimes I wouldn't be able to describe it as soothing.

Darrow's Barn. Seriously, if you've never heard it, click the link, close your eyes, and just listen.

Lullaby by Shawn Mullins. Heard it at a special time - I don't remember the event anymore but I do get intense feelings of comfort and calm whenever I hear it.

Plus Profond - Hooverphonic

It has a fast beat, but mellow, repetitive feel, so it's fast enough to catch my speeding thoughts and pull them down.
