Did you take this picture with a 2004 Motorola razr flip phone?

Nope. Original is 4096x3072
Lemmy wouldn't let me upload such a large photo. I had to crop it, and apparently Lemmy decided to compress it into even further potato quality.
Try reading my other comments.
Looks kind of like a freshly hatched mayfly.
Can't really tell with the blur, but a lot of bugs are green when they first hatch or molt.
You need to post again with higher resolution.
That came from a pretty high resolution camera actually, but it sucks at micro focusing like that, plus I had to crop the image for sake of file size ☹️
Bug is dead and gone now though.
Well the resolution you posted is about the size of a postage stamp, so somehow there is a problem between your fancy camera and us. It’s not (only) a focus issue. The image is so low quality I can’t even assess the focus or lack thereof.
This image is just over 100 pixels by 100 pixels. For comparison, my phone takes pictures that are at least 3000 pixels on each axis.
And Lemmy wouldn't let me post the original 4096x3072, image too big, so I had to crop it. Take it up with Lemmy devs.
I don't think the warning meant it was too large literal size of image, but the size of the file.
Yeah, I know. The original was over 4MB.
Well cropping it shouldn’t change the actual resolution, so if that’s all you did then you might be out of luck. My assumption was the image was resized or compressed somehow. If it’s just a bad picture to start with then it’s probably not possible to identify.
And yes, comparing the original to what I posted, it does appear that somewhere along the upload chain that it did get compressed more. Original ain't much better, but it's like twice as clear.
☹️
I was unable to get my phone camera to focus any closer than like 6 inches or so away. Sigh, I tried, oh well.
Ah I understand what you were saying now. Yeah unless it’s a macro lens most cameras have difficulty with very small, close objects. Maybe some insect expert can make out enough detail from this image but I think it’s probably not possible.
