I picked up a copy of Overload somewhere on the high seas. The graphics on that game are so intense that my poor little laptop can only get like 3 frames per second at its absolute lowest resolution and quality settings ☹️

Maybe one day I'll get a better system worthy of high end games. It's just not high on my priorities list now, as I don't play games nearly as often as I did in my teens and 20s.

Granted that this isn't microwave related, but it's definitely popcorn related. Have you ever heard of a popcorn cannon? They're designed to even be able to pop regular corn right off the cob...

The first uses of the hypotenuse theorem came centuries before Pythagoras, unknown exactly when it came to be. Pythagoras just happens to be credited to be the first to document it.

Edit: Noting that the http site doesn't seem to load in Android WebView mode, fuck Google Chrome, it loads in Firefox though.

Oof, I hear you there. So the CAD software you use won't run under WINE?

Oddly enough, I've repaired a plasma cutter controller system running CAD software from 1991, running under Microsoft Xenix of all things.

It probably ain't too much of a stretch to get that software running under Linux, if only the company released their source code.

It was cheaper for them to keep their old stuff running than dump $20,000+ into a new updated system.

Who said I can't figure out how to install Windows? I don't want Windows anymore.

The very first thing I did when I got my laptop that shipped with Windows 10 was format it and install Linux.

It's a shame that I can't transfer the Windows key in the firmware to someone that could use it ☹️

You're supposed to remove your clothes from your anus before you go to the laundromat.

I won't make that mistake again.

Linux never asked my mother's maiden name nor insisted on creating a cloud account just to log into my computer.

Also, many distros of Linux come with all the main baseline productive software one should need on a live boot media, ain't even gotta install it to try it out.

Be the change you want to see. Strip naked in the laundromat, lead by example...

Haha, sounds like you're pulling from my own quote bucket!

I've never had significant problems with that. I mean sure, there can be minor hiccups and inconveniences when finding and installing proprietary drivers, but aside from that, I don't have any issues after that.

I know this would basically be a useless feature, except for scientific curiousity. I think it could be interesting to some people to see first hand what sort of errors that old faulty CPUs would produce.

Emulators for other faulty platforms might be interesting too. Not like I'd expect any programmers out there to deliberately write faulty instructions though, except as stated, something of a scientific exercise.

Just curious honestly.

Looking past the recent vegan drama, have you ever wondered why your pet might not like particular foods? Have you ever actually tasted the food yourself?

I have, and some taste more like a chemistry lab than actual nutrition.

Seriously, what the fuck is this?

Would you be confused? Would you be mad? Would you even care?

LOL, I'd never do this, but it seems harmless silly enough...

I've tried many things before, but in the past couple days I've found that eating a packet or two of mustard tends to get rid of hiccups.

What sort of tricks do you folks have?

I might say something like "Oof, gravity is kicking in, I gotta go have a seat..."

For context, there are two stray dogs at our local city park that we can't outright adopt, apartment rules say no pets, but we've been doing our best within our means to care for them at the park in the meantime.

Did they determine this by comparing what DNA fragments they've managed to recover, or by physical skeletal structure similarities, or what?

I'm no expert in the field, but I just don't see it.

I've never seen a green mosquito before...
