At least with e-mail clients different clients on different operating systems use different encoding by default for their passwords.

Take a string as bytes is bad with weird non-ASCII characters. Been there, been bitten in the ass by it.

At least with e-mail clients different clients on different operating systems use different encoding by default for their passwords.

With a router I could imagine different client apps following different standards.

Intelligence does not protect you from stupidity.

Have you tried different browsers? You should also enter the full URL sometimes they're a bit stupid nowadays. So http://192.168.x.x:1500/

Maybe the browsers bring their own VPN. Some process all traffic to make it more "mobile friendly". Or they have some other kind of proxy.

There were knife and souvenir shops in Spain that sold katanas. Don't think they were sharp but I always wanted to have one when we went there on vacation. But they were too expensive. But we did get some shuriken, nunchakus (I got some padded ones because I was the younger child) and a butterfly knife.

I blame Douglas Adams' extended tax evasion scheme. I think they were already struggling to finish the first one.

On the other end you have communities where only the owner posts. Speaking from experience...

I can't believe I'm rooting for ISPs.

That's a big pen.

I've started watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer again and 30 minutes in, in the first episode, Cordelia is telling some friends about her bedridden mom whom she suspects to suffer from CFS, whereas her doctor suspects the Epstein-Barr virus.

It's been decades since I've seen the show, but it will probably turn out later to be some kind of demonic influence. If only it were that simple.

A university in Hannover, Germany is planning a study on the effects of apharesis on Long Covid patients with fatigue.

A first study in Mülheim showed an effectiveness of 70 % if I recall correctly. But they didn't have a control group. This new study will be scientifically accurate.

I wonder if this is also relevant for general ME/CFS. Sounds logical to me.

I hate this. I can't even pet my cat as much as she deserves.

As I'm laying on my side in bed, as I always do (fuck [email protected]), browsing Lemmy, I feel the need to get a pillow in front of me to rest my phone-arm on. Shouldn't be a problem, I've got enough pillows. So I reach behind me and grab a pillow that seemingly serves absolutely no function in the structural integrity of my comfort. And as soon as I pull it in front of me to give it its intended purpose I realise that it did serve my back comfort.

Now I feel a void in my back that can never be filled again, because any repositioning (apart from wasting precious energy) will just make matters worse.

Was too interesting for me to not share it.
