Avalanche. There's no debate among serious, intelligent people.

Absolutely 100%. It all fits, and all the crazy stuff about lips and eyes removed are easily explained by animals picking at dead bodies.

... But it was totes a bio weapons test conducted by aliens from the future.

Especially with the bodies in the creek. Snowmelt would push them that direction.

I agree, but I love hearing different theories for stuff like this lol.

Would an avalanche have buried/displaced their tent and bodies?

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I’m guessing the discoveries were far later, allowing time for it to melt off

It's been a while since I read about it but IIRC, rescuers arrived just days later and were able to follow their tracks down the mountain to where some of the bodies were eventually found. An avalanche powerful enough to kill the whole party surely would have wiped all this away even if some of it had melted away in the preceding couple of days.

Avalanche, hypothermia, death

Aliens. It’s always aliens.

Y'all, they famously used shit they learned from making the movie Frozen and pretty much modeled it exactly. This isn't a mystery anymore.

I thought theory was a fire/smoke leaking /explosion inside the tent caused by the homemade stove leading to them cutting their way out and running, and then getting separated and lost in the confusion, before succumbing to hypothermia

That does seem to fit the findings. Then missing eyes and tongue are just birds or rodents chewing them out.

Silent and deadly

It was a yeti. Could have even been Mugato.

Downvote me if you want, I have photo evidence.

I love the yeti theory. It's so absurd
