I block ads as much as possible, which is great for ensuring I see mostly what I want to see via searching or whatever feeds I follow, but it turns out a lot of my feeds are light on general media coverage like books/movies/music/etc.

For those that also heavily block ads and curate their feeds, what do you follow or use for keeping up with new books/movies/music/games/etc.?

I don't. Same as with news; if it's important I'm going to hear about it one way or another. Otherwise I'm fine just staying out of the loop.

To clarify a little, I was asking more about things where...Importance isn't so much a factor. It's more to do with wanting to know whatever new oddity might be around to check out. Passivity in this situation is allowing others to have more input on what reaches you, which isn't always reliable if you want to explore different stuff.

I need to figure out a better way to frame this question. ๐Ÿค”

I've got a friend that tells me when interesting movies come out.

He gets his info from podcasts that he listens to.
