Are my standards through the floor if I find that it looks half-ok?
Terrible Estate Agent Photos
Terrible photos listed by estate agents/realtors that are so bad they’re funny.
Posting guidelines.
Posts in this community must be of property (inside or out) listed for sale which contains a terrible element. “Terrible” can refer to:
-
the photo itself (finger over the lens, too far away, people in the shot, bad Photoshop, etc.)
-
the property (weird layout, questionable plumbing, unsound structure, etc.)
-
the interior (carpeted bathrooms, awful taste interiors, weird mannequins/taxidermies/art, inflatable pools indoors, etc.)
-
the actual listing itself including unusual descriptions and unrealistic pricing. However, this isn’t a community to discuss the housing market in general. This is a comedic community - let’s keep it light.
-
Photos can be sourced from anywhere and be any age, but please check they haven’t already been posted.
-
Censor any names/contact details of private individuals.
-
Mark the post NSFW if it includes nudity or sensitive content
Rules.
This community follows the rules of the feddit.uk instance and the lemmy.org code of conduct. I’ve summarised them here:
- Be civil, remember the human.
- No insulting or harassing other members. That includes name-calling.
- Respect differences of opinion. Civil discussion/debate is fine, arguing is not. Criticise ideas, not people.
- Keep unrequested/unstructured critique to a minimum.
- Remember we have all chosen to be here voluntarily. Respect the spent time and effort people have spent creating posts in order to share something they find amusing with you.
- Swearing in general is fine, swearing to insult another commenter isn’t.
- No racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, xenophobia or any other type of bigotry.
- No incitement of violence or promotion of violent ideologies.
Mine must be too because I didn’t think it was that bad either. It beats a flat share and you could make it look a lot nicer with not too much money.
It does look a bit shabby. But if it's up to code, insulated properly and has a bathroom I'd take it. I've seen worse "traditional" 1 room apartments for more money than that.
They've painted over breezeblocks, I would give my left kidney if this had building control approval, never mind insulation.
All of the Americans of Lemmy are in the comments saying they live in something way worse for way more money 🤷
as long as there's a separate bathroom and not just a big bucket in the driveway......
It's better than the street? Yes It's 550€/month good? Nope. For 250 I could see it maybe.... Of course it depens on location.
There are apartments in New York that look far worse.
For way more money lol
The problem is probably insulation tho. If its not in southern europe then have fun freezing to death in there during winter.
I’ve seen a lot worse for a lot more in St. Louis, this really is decent. Insulation probably sucks though
I've lived in a garage and it wasnt as beautifully appointed as this one. This is perfectly fine by comparison and not bad value
MDF walls separating the (presumed) bedroom from the kitchen, which is in the way of egress, doesn't seem to have a fire alarm or fireproofing, next to a breezeblock wall painted without being primed or treated...
Are you saying it's well appointed because there is a nice £80 breakfast bar and chairs from B&M? Or is it the IKEA light fitting and matching displays drilled into the MDF catching your eye? Maybe the cheap laminate floor? Or is it the leaky ceiling?
Well appointed by comparison with the garage I lived in many years back! Certainly not by comparison with what I live in now, or what should be minimum standards
Depends where you're from, in France, where this ads come from, this is clearly bad value
Depends. Sounds like pretty good value for Paris, unfortunately.
It's old for sure
