I think it was from one of the many communities here that I found out about juicysms.com

Haven't had the need to use their services yet but they look legit.

Thanks for the detailed explanation. I doubt I'll ever need to downgrade it to Oreo so it'll be nice to try out a cuatom rom. I have heard quite a bit of /e/ os and it might be interesting to try it for myself.

The XZ1C has a lot of features I value. The small size, a 3.5mm plug and a camera shutter button. I've since upgraded to the Asus Zenfone8, but I still find it to be too big unfortunately. :(

There's also the option of using Firefox Relay or DuckDuckGo forwarding address.

Excellent points. As an ex-user of the XZ1C, I like to surprise people when I show them that I don't need a sim card ejector when travelling. The sim card tray is such a neat feature.

Since it is now my spare phone, i'm a little tempted to try one of the many custom roms out there. However the rooting / downgrade procedure has always kept me away.

How do you find the camera quality? I remember reading a long time ago about drm keys being wiped during the rooting process. Is it still the case?

Been using Florisboard for a few months and really liked it. Just a couple of days ago I discovered "Unexpected Keyboard" and I'm giving it shot. Very different.

Almost as good, with best being a full refund and worse being nothing at all. I've had Google Play app purchases disappear and that was it. No refunds.

I don't think they are around anymore.

It may be store policy but it unfortunately does not prevent it from happening. Two examples i can remember are "Gentle Alarm" and "Manhatten Project". Both I purchased and no longer available. Also not in my "not installed" list unfortunately.

I may have used the wrong terminology in my earlier reply. There is "unlisted" where the developer leaves the app in the store but removes it from the search. "Carcassonne" by Exocet comes to mind. It is still available for me to install but searching for it only shows the version by Asmodee.

Then there is the complete removal of the app. Gentle Alarm and Manhatten Project are 2 examples. :(

Right, a gift credit. My bad. It's almost as good as a refund, still better than being out of pocket.

At least you got a refund. I lost count of the number of apps and games I purchased from the Google Play store that got unlisted / removed and I didn't get any refunds. Granted it's not Google removing the app but it's the developers unlisting it for whatever reason. A small heads up before said unlisting would have been nice.

It was back in the day. You'll need to see if there's a local group in your area organising it. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/No_Pants_Subway_Ride
