I listen to a lot of death metal including brutal death metal that has lyrics that many would find objectionable. I guess the key difference is that death metal is not expressing the views of the artist. Still, there are plenty of artists with objectionable views whose songs are not deplatformed.

It's the Tetons, specifically seen from Glacier View Turnout. You can see Grand Teton on the right.

Hey, I've been to that very spot.

That's all fair, I would just say cancel your YouTube Premium then.

The problem there is that you're giving more money to Alphabet but not giving your YouTube Premium views to the content creators. I understand not wanting to be tracked, but I feel like this is the worst scenario.

That's funny because my Jetta felt like it was going to rattle itself apart.

Well, there are no YouTube-served ads but a lot of vloggers are using sponsored segments to better monetize their channels. So that's where sponsor block comes in.

If you're new, Ubuntu (or one of its variants, like Xubuntu or Kubuntu) or Linux Mint are great "safe" options. The only thing to consider with Mint is that there is only an LTS release so you will end up with older versions of some programs. I've been using Linux as my primary OS for 17 years but I will still throw Xubuntu on a laptop if I just want to get something up and running quickly - other than having some extra packages installed out of the box there's nothing "wrong" with it.

That said I use openSUSE Tumbleweed as my daily driver. I like the rolling release and cutting edge packages, plus I like that YaST allows me to install the system exactly the way I want - picking and choosing individual packages.

Geforce Now is not at all about cost to me. I use GeForce Now because it allows me to play on my laptop, tablet, phone or TV anywhere I have an internet connection. I don't have or want a desktop, and prefer to have a thin and light laptop for travel rather than a gaming laptop.

You do on Linux as well, it's just installed by default.
