If a community is not very active but there are a lot of bot posts, it just feels like "lipstick on a pig" - they're trying to make it seem more active than it really is, and diluting what little "real" activity there is.
You put "I'm" instead of "in" in the last one, looks like you need another.

I think it's a valid thing to consider. Due to the nature of the fediverse, there will always be small instances. I guess you could say their purpose is to allow Lemmy to be decentralized.
