You could level up by adding uMatrix and plug any and all leaks of data, not just the big ones like ads and cookies. But then you're a bit into control freak territory.
Bonus in my experience would be the team in question get 10-30% of the total to share. If we're talking a pure sales team it varies wildly however, I've seen everything from 10-50% to the team. In some industries sales people can make more than their CEO good years.
H.264 should absolutely work since it supports Intel Quick Sync Video (QSV), which is mainly focused on H.264. I guess it then depends on if there is QSV support in unmanic / the plugins you're trying?
Exactly, surely both will hate it. Classic parenting, if you can't play nice no one can have it, puts toy on shelf. The really expensive part is building the infrastructure needed on the little space left to house all the people displaced. But hey work for a shit ton of people

I see no possible solution without a third power establishing a wide ass DMZ between the two and make sure the zone fucks over both equally. Ideally they'll stop hating each other and focus on the DMZ being ass. Might give us relative peace for like a decade or two.
Ah okay. If you don't have any PCI slots available then USB is going to be the only option then. Though if you have WiFi you could use that as your fail over solution.
Basically, from a hardware standpoint, I'd say a minimum viable solution would look like (no wifi):

2 cheap 4-6 port Switches. Preferably with an uplink port and then you can mock redundant ISP connection by putting a splitter on the WAN connection and putting it into each of the two switches.

3-4 worker nodes each connected to both switches. Preferably a PCI nic but if that is a non-starter then USB. Though here is where pretty much every cent should be spent. Important that each has a minimum of 200 GB storage because that enables you to abstract storage into a CEPH pool and still have enough space to run some decent example workloads.
All other redundancy can and should be handled in software. OpenStack is one approach, Proxmox can probably also work.
Then skip redundant networking and use that cash on the router hardware such that you get enough ports that you won't need a switch
Personal Private Cloud then all the money spent on a truly redundant network back-bone is far better spent on just about anything else. Especially if your solution relies on notoriously unrealiable USB nics.
If redundant everything is important then you need to change your planning toward proper rack servers and switches, only way to get a cost effective reliable redundant setup. Use CEPH rather than RAID and ideally, if your workloads are runnable as containers, use a solution that allows you to abstract away the whole server concept as well. Hyper-converged infrastructure is excellent for cost effective setups.
The first part there is a big reason behind why 4chan was started and the big block relates because a lot of the far rights coordination online stems from 4chan and 4chan initiated movements. I'd argue pepe and all the memes around Trump was instrumental in getting him elected 2016 and that started on 4chan. Also the whole qanon thing had a lot to do with 4chan and that was a big part of why Jan 6th went down.
Traditional snail mail has died. For bills and other important documents there are better, digital, solutions out there. Mail has too many security issues to be the answer for that. What do you get by email today that couldn't be chat message, an entry in a RSS feed, part of a social media feed or a to do item of some sort? 95% of my mail box is newsletters and ads. The rest is order confirmations from various sites. But none of that needs to be emails imo.
The only real, proper use case, these days is work related communication. But even there chat is often the better tool and email lacks because it's fundamentally insecure and to make it secure you run into the problem of having to set it up between domains, and if you're already doing that kind of work why not decide on a more secure by design communications channel?
I think in the future communication solutions like Matrix that can talk to (virtually) all other solutions will enable us to move away from email, but it won't happen until we get Matrix like solutions for task management such that I can send someone a task without having to care about which solution they use at X company, and it will still land in that system. Once we have something like that mail won't have anything going for it. That really is the final use case.
Absolutely, and Microsoft knows this. You could even upgrade a pirated version of Windows to a legit copy when they did the upgrade drive for 7 I believe it was. Did it myself. And they completely turn a blind eye to OEM key reselling, which is why you can get legit windows keys for less than $10 these days.
They've also never done anything substantial against pirates, all they do is pester about buying a key and warn about the risks. The "worst" they do is stop you from using windows update which some see as a feature. When they could just completely lock you out and/or report you to the police.
The money is in server for Microsoft, but they're losing that battle slowly but surely since they can't make windows actually work properly in a container setting. I have customers that love Microsoft but despite their best efforts at making containerized windows workloads work it just sucks major ass. And virtually everybody is coming around to realize just how insane of a paradigm shift containers are.
And losing that battle is why 12 will likely move to subscription. And I'm willing to bet money that, in 10 years time, will be considered the starting point for Microsofts dramatic loss of market share in the home PC market. From 90% or so now down to like 50 ish %. But maybe some smart guys at Microsoft will nip that in the bud.
