Today is the shitty anniversary of my brothers death from AML. He was sick for 3 years and its was good at times and then really hard.

He was already one of the most philosophical people I knew when he got sick. Social Security allowed him to have the time with his friends and family when he was deemed unable to work which really helped the whole process.

We got to drive across the US for the eclipse which happened during his last spell of better health (it was an upswing after a marrow transplant that ultimately failed). I’m taking my 6 year old and wife wherever we need to too see the eclipse this April. So I can show my son what his uncle and I saw right before he was born.

Bigalow has paper bags, the only annoyance is that they come in individual wrappers made of paper/foil/(possibly plastic lining?).

Lipton came in paper pouches wrapped in paper last time I saw one.

I’m pretty sure it’s in reference to a meme about menthol in plants, and how humans decided that it’s tasty since if feels cool when you eat it.

We do the same with capsaicin, lemon, and other plants that evolved defense mechanisms that result in odd flavors.

Nice sleuthing, I was just checking it against non metric volumes and closest is a US pint (437.1…ml).

We all (maybe) learned something new today.

We actually paid for a library card at the neighboring city because the have a much better collection, better online access (hoopla and Libby and Kanooy with less restrictions, our local town library is fully used up by morning most nights).

They also have a much better reciprocal museum pass selection, so we get big discounts on increasingly expensive museum tickets nearby.

Wooooooah. My wife’s new glasses actually came with a tiny bottle of Tabasco sauce (with the eye doctor’s business info printed on it).

I’d give them credit for the meme, but I have a feeling they’re clueless, as they also push “healing salt lamps” in that place.

Her new progressives came out great at least though!

Lots of us know, but we mostly live in urban centers where life is better (and often a bit less car centric, for example). Our voting and election finance laws erase lots of our voices.

Just be lucky that when motivated, we still vastly outvote the right wing nuts.

We did a similar way with tag based releases, first a test tag, the production tag when signed off.

I think in both imperial and metric, imperial forces more fractions into my thought, which may be useful for time divisions. Fractions can definitely be quicker for centering things along a length. But when I’m designing for 3d printing (a fertile that has always been metric based) I prefer mm/cm.

Really though, is does anyone know if/how Wikipedia is protecting itself from this?

That’s when I really started liking Justin Trudeau. He was so much stronger that Trump and let everyone know it.
