Ridiculous physics is always fun.
Votes aren't private on the fediverse, it's just a that some interfaces won't display them. Also, instance admins can see who voted too.

Don’t bother yourself over it. That way lies madness.
It mainly useful for admins to detect if there is some vote manipulation going on.
Plus there's the issue of overhead. An email might be simple, but look at the raw message and there's a lot of stuff being sent for each email.
It's like the Picard Maneuver, but where you just warp straight in front of your enemy while simultaneously shitting yourself.
