Sunken City... it just drags on and on and on. I want to finish it, but every time the main mission gets interrupted by a side quest or I can't find the "trigger" for the obvious next step clue I lose the will to play the game.

Qubes is the gold standard

Network namespaces also work

Portmaster is a good gui for this approach

More rarely: some poorly configured USB controllers can actually provide enough backwash power to the motherboard that some LEDs still blink, like the Ethernet indicators.

I ran into this myself, I notice the lights being on, and they stayed on when I unplugged the computer. Took me a good 5m of debugging to figure it out.

this 100% factually incorrect.

Setting up a Synology server, I made the mistake of just buying a UPS that had a USB plug on the back thinking oh this is a solved problem, it must just work. No no far from it.

So the UPS I mistakenly purchased is not compatible with Synology. SRV1KI-E wants to run this weird program called PowerChute.

Anyone have success marrying this into the Synology ecosystem?

It also has a RS 232 serial port, I wonder if there's an off-the-shelf device that would speak serial but output power state via the network or USB.

New Vegas Reloaded is officially available for download via Discord.

There are many other versions floating around the interwebs but it's HIGHLY recommended you use the latest nightly build, downloaded from the TES Reloaded Discord.

I'll point out, this site is hosted on GitHub, which distributes builds, and has build infrastructure....

Why are builds going through discord???!?! Insane

On stock aosp, and pixel android, I can auto rotate the phone up, left, or right, but if I turn the phone upside down the screen won't rotate.

Is there a way to enable upside down rotation? I think it would be quite useful.

I.e. When phone is charging, or hanging phone up by a strap, or when using a usb-c device and you want to prop it up on a desk

A PasswordCard is a credit card-sized card you keep in your wallet, which lets you pick very secure passwords for all your websites, without having to remember them! You just keep them with you, and even if your wallet does get stolen, the thief will still not know your actual passwords.

A very cute idea, well implemented.

Your PasswordCard has a unique grid of random letters and digits on it. The rows have different colors, and the columns different symbols. All you do is remember a combination of a symbol and a color, and then read the letters and digits from there. It couldn't be simpler!

A chain is only as strong as its weakest link. It's far safer to pick secure passwords and write them down, than it is to remember simple and easy to guess passwords. You already protect your wallet very well, and even if it does get stolen the thief will still not know which of the many thousands of possibilities on the card is your password.

Very weird, this is the TBB direct from Tor.

Trojan:Win32/Malgent!MTB

....Tor Browser\Browser\TorBrowser\Tor\tor.exe

And it links to : https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/wdsi/threats/malware-encyclopedia-description?name=Trojan%3AWin32%2FMalgent!MTB&threatid=2147836816

Anyone else having issues with TBB?

Rossman is on form. A delightful rant about his experiences with gyms. And his promotion of privacy.com and their virtual credit card numbers that he can cancel remotely.

Have you experienced a recent dramatic increase in robocalls in the last 48 hours or so?

In the last two days I've received 10 robo calls.. I know they are robo calls because they are all from my area code (which nobody I talk to uses) and all different numbers. No voice mail, no texts.

This is fairly rare, I usually get one or two a month, but not 10 in 48 hours.

Not in a huge inconvenience, none of them get past Google voice screening, I just see the missed call notifications constantly and it's annoying.

Always been interested in relief maps. Lately I've wanted to purchase some 3D relief maps. The contours you can feel with your hand. Maybe even exaggerated relief maps. But it seems to have been popular historically but not so much nowadays.

Who's still actively creating 3D relief maps? Is this now just the domain of 3D printing?

Along the same lines a 3D relief globe would be amazing.

Where's the right place to buy? Are they all ridiculously expensive? Or is there a supplier who does reasonable prices for basically educational maps?

I figured out how to open a bottle cap using my cell phone case, I was proud of myself. What is the best way, portable, or creative, you have found to open bottles?

Looking for stable standing desk recommendations. I don't like my desk to wobble while standing or pushing against the desk.

The Ikea Idasen looks interesting with it's Y shaped legs.

So you have a non-wobbly standing desk you love?

Do you have must have desk organizer/ gadgets? I'd love to learn about those too.
