not at all. are you expected to remember it? would it even be possible to memorize for most? not even close to the same thing, passwords have very low entropy which causes all their problems

i imagine MS just hard coded a random license key into the build image and it expired. the issue doesn't say exactly tho
i am thinking this issue description is implying that EVERYONE using the windows build image was broken. MS probably had a hard coded license in the build image which expired. idk, could be reading it wrong

there's literally zero technical reason that a user couldn't reset a private key the same as a password. after all, you just pointed out they are almost the same.
edit: if you'd like to see an example create SSH keys for your GitHub account and then reset them
private keys, etc

seems like not that long ago i would've thought that the idea of a PC without any disc drive was insane. i had to help a neighbor kid the other week when forced bitlocker bricked his gaming PC, sure enough it didn't have any disc drive!
