Well then I missed that the first time.
I'd have put in bracket with each list item if it was FOSS, shareware, free trial, free for non corp use, etc.

I guess this is Technology not Linux or FOSS, but feels like the difference is often mixed up and it's not all about cost. Anyway, looks like there is now a added note they aren't all FOSS.
I get about 450 (as kids bounce on me). It's not nothing, about the same as Chernobyl alone (many got thyroid cancer but lived). Let alone adding 2314 for Fukushima.
Kind of academic as your still go past the small number killed in airships.
Some of us use FOSS because of access to the source and the benefits of an all FOSS system. Not because it's zero cost. This list is just zero cost and some happen to be FOSS.
Not to mention slow to build. Takes about a decade to get a nuclear plant going. If that is replacing coal, you are burning that coal during construction. The CO2 cost of that should be taken into account when comparing to much quicker renewables (approx 2 years). Also pouring all that concrete. Once it's build, sure it's green, but that is expensive, takes ages and comes with a big CO2 cost to get going.
Or you go renewable now, turn the filthy coal off about 8 years sooner and save a ton of money and CO2 right now.
Mmmm. Looking at:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Airship
Roughly I'd say it's at most 200-300 people. Airships just didn't carry many at once.
If you look at:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_nuclear_and_radiation_fatalities_by_country
You easily go past the airships estimate. One that surprised me was: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windscale_fire
"Estimated 100 to 240 cancer fatalities in the long term"
You can beat airships deaths will just one of big accidents.

Manipulating currency is a useful tool. If you don't think so, that makes you more liberian than me.
Like many here, I'm big into open source, and card payment systems are an issue. Crypto is one solution to that. Crypto has advantages, but it falls down as a currency because of blind faith in the invisble hand.
So Tree Tabs built in? I've used them for so long, I don't know how other manage without them. Yet I know no one else who uses them, even after I show them. Be interesting see how well the new built in ones work.
Everyone has hardware enough already. Your phone is perfectly good enough. For tills it will be easier to implement. No nonsense with a card machine and things like WorldPay and whole locked down PC. The hardware and platform wouldn't matter.
From what I found, and varies due to values/date, looks like a PoW transaction is about 2+ million times more energy than traditional banking. PoS is over 1000 times less than PoW, so about 2+ thousands times traditional banking. But transitional banking has other problems. For one, the market of payment is stitched up. Not like openness of a crypto currency.
