The (Graphic) Design industry is being overmarketed by influencers trying to sell their overpriced courses, so that they can get a passive income instead of actually working in the field. They have no desire to teach nor mentor students, and the industry is actually extremely saturated with very little prospects unless you land a bingo of both skills and networking.

I thought it was an interesting look at the perception of Britain in terms of 'branding' but let me know if it does not fit the community !

The website is just a front page for the report, which is actually a canvas project available here : https://www.canva.com/design/DAGTj0mFh2g/ioNSHMo4aGyOs6jwpgtgow/view?utm_content=DAGTj0mFh2g

A report that dives into the good, the bad, and the distinctiveness of Brand Britain. After five changes of brand leader in eight years, not to mention all the events in between, how's the brand looking? Does ‘Britishness’ still have that distinctive edge? And, what’s the impact, if any, that Brand Britain has on British brands?

Expert information, insight and analysis brought to you by British Chamber of Commerce x Ipsos x JKR.

This interaction reads like a tennis match

Of course not. Here’s how leading AI labs mislead consumers, journalists, and each other.

Every month or two, an AI lab releases a new model that they claim leaves most, if not all, of their competitors in the dust. Recent examples include OpenAI’s GPT-4o, Anthropic’s Claude 3 Opus, and Google DeepMind’s Gemini Ultra. These announcements are generally followed by a large amount of hype from the tech media, like Ars Technica’s breathless “The AI wars heat up with Claude 3, claimed to have ‘near-human’ abilities.” People tend to take these claims seriously. They use these numbers to decide which labs are “ahead” of the others and often to decide which LLMs to use. However, they would do better to treat these reports with a healthy dose of skepticism.

Oh you watch the Olympics name all the medals 🤓 vibe

Well, in a way it doesn't cost them anything because it's already being broadcast on TV for free, since it's the national / public TV

But also, I'm french and I despise having to give away my email to access "free" things so I just enjoy providing them with the most ridiculous emails, good luck with that database, fellow countryman 😈

I mentioned this in another thread : you can go to France Television's website and sign up with a bogus email (there's no check) to watch live broadcasts and replays for free !

One user pointed out to me that they may geoblock you, so a VPN would be recommended.

And then obviously it's gonna be in french, which definitely isn't ideal if you don't speak the language lol

But do you really need update from Google if you're planning on installing a custom rom ? Genuine question, I thought your security updates would be handled by /e/ or graphene or whatever you choose

I'd like more smaller scale projects and events to foster a sense of community, canvas is coming up and it will be a good test to see the dedication and activity of communities in the fediverse
