It's the same as anywhere. FWIW obviously inflammatory stuff gets removed from [email protected] under rule 9. Disagreements are okay, but folks are expected to keep things civil. Also an issue for kbin/mbin is that moderator removals aren't federated probably to/from Lemmy.

Doesn't take extreme wealth for that. I make enough that I can buy whatever I want. The best Christmas gifts are things I wouldn't think of needing or wanting.

For birthday, it's usually just a dinner without gifts.

Have you looked into possible causes for your fatigue, exhaustion, and insomnia? It could be worth some investigation (e.g., blood work, sleep study, ADHD assessment).

They have access to the IP and own the compute resources running OpenAI's services.

I posted up some more detail from a purported insider on [email protected]. It seems like Ilya Sutskever and others on the engineering side who led the efforts to get him out.

  • Concerns about Leadership: There were internal concerns at OpenAI about Sam Altman's leadership, focusing on his alleged disregard for ethical considerations and priorities set by the organization.

  • Issues with Company Direction: Employees raised red flags about Sam pushing the company towards fast growth and fame, potentially compromising safety, quality, and ethical standards.

  • Board Intervention: The OpenAI board's decision to remove Sam as CEO was driven by a need to realign the company with its original mission and values, emphasizing ethics and responsible AI development.

  • Optimism for Future Direction: Despite the challenges, there's a sense of optimism about the future of OpenAI under new leadership, with a focus on returning to an engineering-driven mission and prioritizing safety and ethics in AI development.

You might want to relocate the litter box or add another.

I'm not sure it's a platform that should be promoted. It is incredibly laden with alt right content, even worse than the stuff YouTube frequently attempts to drive me toward. It's also just another publicly traded company. It's affiliated with that Truth Social stuff as well.

Sorry, they're the first results on Google if you search "rumble" and "kick" so I figured you'd have already found them 😅.

It's just rumble.com and kick.com. Rumble is packed with alt right content though. I always knew it as RT's favourite platform.

They appear to be attempting to give it a distinct name here.

Rather than scattering when they come into contact with phonons, excitons in Re6Se8Cl2 actually bind with phonons to create new quasiparticles called acoustic exciton-polarons. Although polarons are found in many materials, those in Re6Se8Cl2 have a special property: they are capable of ballistic, or scatter-free, flow. This ballistic behavior could mean faster and more efficient devices one day.

  • Columbia University chemists have developed Re6Se8Cl2, a superatomic semiconductor exhibiting ballistic flow, potentially surpassing conventional semiconductors in speed and efficiency.
  • This material forms acoustic exciton-polarons that move scatter-free across the material, promising faster and more efficient energy and information transfer.
  • Unlike silicon, exciton-polarons in Re6Se8Cl2 pair with phonons, enabling steady, rapid movement without scattering, which could lead to faster processing speeds at room temperature.
  • Re6Se8Cl2 is unlikely for commercial use due to the rarity and cost of Rhenium, but the discovery opens possibilities for other materials with similar properties for future technological applications.

To install another one that works!

This is the fastest Arm desktop in the world, yes, even faster than the M2 Ultra Mac Pro. And today, I made it even faster.

I upgraded everything: Faster RAM, 128 core CPU, 40 series GPU, I did it all, and we'll see how much we can obliterate the M2 Mac Pro.

As of today, I have this thing running 128 CPU cores at 2.8 GHz. I upgraded the RAM to 384 GB of DDR4 3200 ECC RAM, specifically six Samsung 64 GB sticks. I installed an Nvidia 4070 Ti.

It's running both Ubuntu 22.04 Server and Windows 11 for Arm now. I even got Steam installed on Ubuntu, after so many commenters kindly pointed out Box86 and Box64 exist!
