5 years? Honestly, I give old reddit maybe 1 year left.
It used to be great for gaming news updates. Back when the feed would just be who the user chose to follow. Sure, the big stuff would make it to Facebook eventually but I felt it was a better product for breaking news.
I broke the cycle when I quit Reddit but Lemmy is starting to keep me up until midnight again.
Exactly! It's so much more engaging to learn all of these things organically as you catch up with someone. I still have Insta but am using it less and instead, sharing photos with my friends directly.
