Assuming it's not seriously illegal where you live, substitute alcohol for cannabis, have a great night and wake up rested and refreshed the next morning.

Seems to be less damaging to the body long term too, but that's neither here nor there.

I use a project called MiSTer for most of my retro needs these days, but there are definitely a bunch of other upscalers and things that can create similar effects.

Generally I find the quality of CRT emulation effects is much better, more accurate and more subtle than they used to be.

Some people swear by real CRTs of course, but getting a good picture out of a good CRT is usually an expensive (or at least time sinking) endeavor. It usually involves RGB modding consoles, or at least getting something like S-Video out. Many of us grew up with composite video, but it's pretty gnarly when you go back to it.

I feel a little bit underwhelmed about Raspberry Pi 5 compared to the Orange Pi 4.

Would it have killed them to throw an nvme m.2 connector on the underside?

These days I'd much rather pay 8-bit games on a 65inch 4k tv via HDMI with shadow mask and (light) scanline emulation filters, than over composite video to a small CRT. To reach their own though.

Man, everything around AI is just cynical and gross.

Anything... for a price.

What they should really do is pay musicians more.

Godot users don't give death threats, just saying.

I have literally turned around and gone home to check if I closed the garage door, so I feel this.

I kind of get what you mean and, while I think the way you've worded it is a bit cold and dehumanizing, I'm inclined to agree since I'm much more interested in what people do and how they act than what clothes they wear or whatever label they decide to brand themselves with.

At the same time... You don't have to deeply care about how people see themselves in order to value their right to express themselves or be the person they want to be.

I have friends who transitioned from male to female. I still think of them as the same person and I don't really care how they dress or what their personal anatomy is like, but I do feel proud and happy for them that they are living their best and working towards being the person they want to be, in the same way that I would feel good about myself if I lost that extra weight or whatever.

In other words, the clothes people wear, what genitalia they have, or what pronouns they label themselves with may be totally superficial and unimportant, but the happiness and authenticity that comes from living freely and being the person who you want to be are real and, I think, really important.
