When I was younger I binged a lot of Alistair MacLean. To continue the list with some of my other favourites:

The Satan Bug

The Golden Rendezvous

The Dark Crusader

The Last Frontier

Ice Station Zebra

Fair warning though: he's quite formulaic and it is not recommended to finish one of his books then start another. Read a couple of books inbetween to give yourself a break.

The way Gmail orders conversations/email chains makes it SO hard to figure who's reply to what and what the latest email is. Each email in the chain contains the entire chain before it and you end up reading everything twice just to work out what the hell is going on.

Not to mention Ace Ventura's too-long scene of showering, burning his clothes, using a plunger to make himself throw up etc. So you kissed someone you didn't know was trans, grow up.

I'm really hoping Quiet Game is a Bluey reference.

Alternatively, the same measurement is 752.5mm / 4 = 188.1mm, to a practical number of significant figures. No convertions between feet and inches (or ridiculous fractions of inches), and only one calculation.

Or more noticably all the southern hemisphere penguins

Woodworking, sure. You have a piece of wood 2' 5 5/8“ long that you need to cut into quarters. Can you calculate that in your head? Metric is SOOOO much easier.

I love how this was added to the Apollo 13 movie. As they're floating about feeling cold and miserable Swigert gets told he has been granted an extension as he is "definitely out of the country".

No, no, no, it's not Elon who's out of touch. It's the advertisers who are wrong! Just wait until all of Earth, apparently, hears of how these big mean advertisers killed the wondrous and righteous place named X. There will be outrage!.... so thinks Elon anyway. What a deluded moron.

Well... they used to at least :(

Yep, in 1975. We've been a bit of a puppet ever since.
