It's more than a life of service, the Sea Org sign a billion year contract to include any resurrections.

It's also just an interesting question.

That's pretty neat! An old job took over a space that used to be owner by, I think, Raytheon, and they left some neat junk behind including a touchscreen that can't have been much newer than that. It used a grid of IR beamers and receivers across the screen and your finger would interrupt an X and a Y beam to indicated location. Pretty cool.

Looks like a render or AI to me.

I can't imagine that the terms are sent back to the server, only the clicked_agree=True

A few of us were invited out to dinner by our boss in my first corporate job. I ordered the cheapest sandwich on the menu because I had no idea if he was paying for me, and this wasn't the sort of restaurant I could go to except for anniversaries. Everybody else got steaks and stuff, and the boss did pay. My chicken sandwich was good too, but I'll never forget my anxiety looking at the prices on the menu!

I hadn't realized there was a link; I thought it was just a picture. Thank you!

That's astounding! Is it a real picture or a radio signal interpretation?

Wanna hear my favorite knock knock joke? Great!

You start...

Fair enough; I have no idea. We'd like to think we are above our animal natures I'm sure.

Babies produce a pheromone to make them cuter so that you don't huck them into the woods when they just won't shut up.

Medically yes. Morally, maybe not.

We're last minute people, maybe a week in advance without air travel, a month with. A family friend just invited us to join them on a vacation NOVEMBER 2025. That seems bonkers to me!

How far in advance do you plan a small trip like a road trip or visiting family, and how far in advance for a big trip like international travel, a cruise, or Disney?

Hello ladies (current and former) of Lemmy (current) - I'm curious how your experience of the male gaze has changed as you moved in and out of young-woman-hood.

How has your opinion of being seen changed through this process?
