I remember reading a post that claimed that Tesla's safety rating was given to them because a bunch of their crashes were determined to be human error - because the self-driving feature would automatically disconnect if it faced a crash it couldn't avoid.

The other annoying thing is that "owning" something is getting to be non-existent anymore. Sure, I can "buy" all the seasons of Supernatural from iTunes. But I only "own" the show for was long as I have my iTunes subscription, and iTunes has the rights to show it, and I have internet service with enough bandwidth to stream it, and I'm not under a bandwidth cap or some other restriction.

Or I can grab a copy and it'll happily live on my hard drive forever, no need to worry about subscriptions or streaming rights or bandwidth limitations.

Tell me: in which of those scenarios do I actually "own" the series?

I've had the AC filters, and they make a difference, just don't forget to change them afterward. I also ended up buying one of those home air purifier things (something I never thought I'd do), and that's helped with the air in my bedroom at night as well - I'm no longer waking up with headaches. That plus an N95 mask outside and I'm actually doing okay!

I doubt it has anything to do with being a hoarder's house.

I'd bet it has everything to do with being a hoarder's house, because an end-stage (severe level 5) hoarder's house is only suitable for tearing down. The person who buys the place is buying the land, as well as paying for the demolition of the house.

Description of a severe hoarder's house:

Severe Structural Damage to the Hoarded Home

There is severe structural damage caused by the hoard. Repairs that needed to be done in the past that were inaccessible or unnoticed because of the excessive accumulation of belongings have now hit a critical point. The structural damage is widespread. The floor may be caving in across an entire room or section of the house, and the roof will most likely be greatly compromised.

Extensive water damage will exist on both the ceilings and the walls. Multiple windows may be busted. Window seals and window frames will be rotting or disintegrated from water damage. Pipes will have burst and flooded areas like the basement without any objects being removed. [...]

Entire walls will have crumbled in because of mold damage. The weight of the hoard pressing on the drywall will have caused beam exposure. Places, like where the drywall has now crumbled to create a hole, are filled with hoarded items.

Please don't use personal attacks.

There was a picture of this place on reddit a while back. There's a hall behind the wall on the right, and there are stairs going up.

I once had to place an order with 3M. For this product, their website lists the product, then directs you to a page listing the suppliers you can order from. I needed it shipped to New Jersey, so I chose a supplier in Pennsylvania to keep shipping costs down. When I asked for an estimate, their website balked, said it couldn't make an estimate. I tried actually placing the order, but it kept kicking up this error message.

Over a period of like two weeks, I kept trying to place this order, and it simply would not go through. And it really seemed to be related to shipping somehow - it always generated the error when it tried to calculate shipping. I tried multiple addresses in New Jersey, but the website simply couldn't cope with any of them, anywhere in the state.

Finally, in frustration, I tried a bunch of other addresses and determined that the website would ship to Virginia. It really felt like that old "our email won't go more than 500 miles" tech issue somehow. Anyway, I had them ship the package to Virginia, and then our manager there forwarded it to the clients. But it was incredibly frustrating at the time.
