I'm currently using Unraid for pretty much every thing you listed, and I love it so much. I really appreciate being able to set up almost everything through the web interface. It makes my hobbies feel fun rather than just an extension of my day job.

That said, I bought the licence before they switched to a subscription model. So if I were starting over I might look into free alternatives.

You can still buy a lifetime subscription for Unraid, it's just a lot more expensive.

Terrorism is when the weak strike against the powerful. Oppression is when the powerful strike against the weak. Both are deplorable, but the latter is much more insidious due to the target population's inability to stand up for itself.

So it's very rich to hear you lecture others on not knowing their history, when you apparently just ignore the over half a century of oppression that led to these acts of terrorism in the first place.

Of course, I fully agree! My point was just that you can eliminate the risk of poorly implemented cryptography at the endpoints. Obviously there's a thousand and one other ways things could go wrong. But we do the best we can with security.

Excellent point! If I'm sending someone information that could get me killed if it were intercepted by the state, I'd sure as hell want some guarantees about how the other side is handling my data. Disallowing third party clients gives me at least one such guarantee.

Yes I understand. It works spelled that way. But "no pun intended" doesn't work because there was no pun in the initial setup. In my version both meanings make sense

I always thought that joke needs an actual pun in the first half so the "no pun intended" has a valid double meaning. I came up with:

I told the sad ghost ten puns to raise its spirits. No pun intendid.

Funny you mention Ladybird.. It's a commendable project and I hope they succeed. But until it renders 99% of websites, plays Netflix videos, has all the modern features people expect of a web browser and is an actual viable option for non techies.. It is really proving the opposite of your point. The fact that an alpha is still years away speaks to how hard this really is.
