French has the bépo layout which applies the Dvorak methodology to French

I would like to see more rpg discussion, I like that the [email protected] doesn't end-up an D&D community like in the alien website, but I would love to see more than one discussion thread per week.

Atheism isn't a religion, so there isn't "must read books" nor mandatory workshops. Do what you please.

Interesting,

I know that in the french alps we can reach the mountain police through VHF if needed, and that during heli-rescue they give a call on the free-flight frequency to let paraglider know that they are coming. but I am pretty sure that they have their own network too, and that VHF is a way to call them when you have no mobile phone coverage

Is there place were law enforcement still use regular radio ?

Nowadays, it's a protocol similar as mobile phone with digital data transmission and encryption rather than good old analog radio.

And it's typically a case were encryption is important, even for the privacy of the involved persons

Unpopular opinion but Don't panic.

It's been decade that economy has been shit for real people with crisis starting before the previous one finished, high unemployment, stagnating wages, expensive real estate and more

If you're rich enough to be impacted by stock market collapsing you're already way above average.

Sure it's not making things better, and not the moment to change job, but it's been shit for a while and will stay shitty. The era when boomer could find a job without any degree, get a living wage with yearly raise and promotions is over.

True goal: start making butter that's as good as Kerrygold.

This says a lot about the state of US dairy industry if you consider kerrygold as the "gold standard for butter"

for things that will most likely happen.

When I took the First-aid/CPR course, the red cross trainer spent like 30 minutes doing a list of what can realistically happen where we are. An interesting exercise.

Full blown apocalypse is unlikely, but doing stuff like checking the flood-risk map before renting/buying a home (Especially ground floor apartment and single-floor house) does wonder at not having to evacuate. Knowing the kind of dangerous factory/goods in your area also helps a lot planning for the right thing.

Piefed isn't lemmy so voyager won't work. I believe interstellar does work (I use it for my alt on mbin and it's a nice app)

OP, as you see, you're not stuck in your instance and can interact directly with people/communities from other instances. I believe that piefed also let you follow Mastodon account, but I haven't tried piefed yet

Bread in whole loaf so it lasts more than 24h, large hand-cut slice feel better, and a minor inconveinience anyhow.

Do not over cut grass, it's time consuming, feels artificial, and is bad for insects

What do you mean ?

Most lemmy communities are pretty relax and laid-off, not really aplace with troll and censorships

IANAL but I really doubt you can't patent a game mechanic. Have you noticed the amount of "D&D clone" which aren't SRD version but do use D20, classes, and level rather than original game mechanics?

You can't come with an infinity of games mechanics and even assuming it's legal to patent (I doubt-it) there is tons of previous art which would make the patent invalid. Even a very inovative game like Blade in the Dark re-use tons of concept from other games like reputation score, partial success, dice pools or clocks

Due to the Canadian influence in the Francophone improv scene, on improv match you see team wearing Ice-hockey jersey, referee with the black-white stripped jersey, and the public would thrown slipper at them. Making it a fun and interactive show.

But is it something universal (On matches with competing team, not on improv show who don't have referee) or something limited to the Francophone scene ?

While it fell a bit out of fashion, many of you have heard about Scam-baiting where you reply to scammer and drive them nuts. In the 00's the 419eater.com website was pretty popular.

I would expect that many of you on the fediverse have the skill and time to drive scammer crazy, so did some of you tried to reply to the Nicole Scam ?
