Depends if the allocated memory is actively used or not. Some apps do not require a large amount of random access memory, and are totally fine with a small part of random access memory and a large part of not so random access and not so often used memory.

Alternatively I can imagine that MacOS simply has a damn good algorithm to determine what can be moved to swap and what cannot be moved to swap. They may also be using the SSD in SLC mode so that could contribute to the speedup as well.

Yes. If you have swap the system will crawl to a halt before the process is killed though, SSDs are like a thousand times slower than RAM. Swapoff and allocate a ton of memory to see it in action.

Solar Panels are really cheap now.

Nah, the locals() or globals() object is much better for this.

No, how could I be mad about the truth? We'd download and run any dotfiles if the screenshot looks nice enough.

Depends on the bread and the bin. My parents have a pottery one, it keeps proper bread perfectly fresh. Of course you do need to eat a bit at least every day/every other day, because the cut side will dry out eventually.

Maybe that's mostly the bread doing all the work though. I don't know how you can store toast for any practical amount of time without consuming more preservatives than bread, lol

There are latching mechanisms. Sliding doors exist.

Yes?

I'll happily join in bashing Amazon for plenty of reasons, but training an AI is a step that adds significant value to the material. Just like any other product that is an effort that people are willing to pay for.

Actually, having hot water for tea or coffee ready when you wake up is one of the few really good use cases.

It annoys me to no end that Firefox on mobile seems to be opening a new tab whenever I open the app. Just put me on the old tab with the old url set and selected in the search bar. If I search for something else I need to press a single backspace to get the old behavior, but I don't collect unmanageable numbers of tabs that way.

Their Download stats look very sus though. Maybe they process their logs three days late, but that drop does not look pretty.
