I feel incredibly blessed to have a job that allows me to do my work on my own time, and to utilize company resources to educate myself while on the clock. I honestly get excited to go to work nowadays, and it’s great. :)

This is my wife. She can make some amazing meals, but never seems to be able to clean as she cooks.

Hey, some people learn from their mistakes. Hell, my first PC build (23 years ago…) was DOA because I had inadvertently bent a pin on the CPU, and it got smashed when I tightened down the cooler. That was an expensive mistake, but one I certainly learned from.

And people repairing their own stuff is always a good idea. People learning how to maintain their electronics is never a bad thing! Everyone should pick up a soldering iron at some point. :)

And, as far as I’ve always known, those apps are awful. I haven’t checked in awhile though.

So, rather than having some revenue coming in from YouTube, they’d rather force everyone to use their own website? Do they not understand that not everyone watches YouTube on a computer? Some exclusively use the YouTube app on their phones, TVs, or game consoles.

I dunno. It’s not as if it costs them anything to host the videos on YouTube. Seems odd to completely cut off a revenue source like that.

So, fun fact: the human brain cannot multitask. Some are good at switching tasks quickly, their minds well adjusted for doing so. Others, like you and I, have trouble switching tasks quickly. It’s not something you can train or get better at, it’s just a quirk of how your brain developed. There’s no shame in it, either. But now that you’re aware of what the issue is, you can take steps to work around it.

Talking to a mental health professional is a good step, but be wary of getting put on any drugs. Sometimes the best thing you can do is be aware of any issues and work around them. That being said, for me, a stimulant is the perfect solution to some of my ADHD related issues, others are deeply ingrained behaviors that need to be trained out.

No drug is suddenly going to solve all your problems. They can help with aspects, but be wary of side effects. Not just physical ones, either.

As someone with ADHD, I find that if I’m focused on something and someone tries to get my attention, I’ll often need to ask them to repeat themselves. Not because I didn’t hear them, but I couldn’t comprehend them. It’s not about the sound entering my ears, it’s about my brain not being ‘ready’ to take in information from a different source so suddenly.

Right, but I meant a service in the traditional sense, like trains or food stamps or whatever. Windows is so ubiquitous with operating a PC at this point, and they’ve literally given it away for free for so long at this point that if they start charging a subscription for it nobody’s gonna go along with it. Microsoft’ll be in the same position they are now, but they’ll lose a lot of money implementing this BS.
