My friend got the original galaxy fold and kept it until this year when she bought a fold5. She still has the original fold as a backup phone, too. I'm not sure longevity is necessarily a worry, by that metric.

It's also certainly possible for a privately owned company (even one owned by a single individual) to undergo enshitification, it is only (if anything) less likely.

It's true I lost out on some of the engagement for a number of my hobbies. I'm less in touch than I was.
Turns out I can manage like that just fine, though, so...
These days the only time I use reddit is when I'm searching for some obscure question and that's the only place with an obvious answer. Otherwise, Lemmy is doing everything I needed reddit to do.
