This is what I found. It’s just an attic from somewhere, but it has lots of references.

Sounds like something Collinsville would say for sure.

Two points:

  • Companies can more easily manipulate us with marketing if they can just create the perfect model.
  • The whole push towards diversity in advertising, particularly in body size and shape, is going to go out the window. Many people will no longer see themselves represented, which could make self esteem go down and the subsequent consequences of that.

Is that a good thing or bad thing to you?

To be fair, I bet there is a town named Iran in the US. There’s a Cuba, Bolivia, Lebanon, and others.

Okay, I just looked it up and no, but you can see where I coming from - lots of places named after foreign countries/cities. It probably is stupidity, but with included confusion.

Yeah, once you get to a certain amount of karma, you roll over into the cents, eventually going negative and you owe them now!

USA Midwest, you are generally asked if you want sweet or unsweetened black iced tea. There are usually various sweetener packets at the table that you can use. Some restaurants only have sweet tea.

Midwest is generally this way too, but some only have sweet tea.

Okay, you’re not on Reddit anymore where things are just easy because they spent time to figure it out. Fediverse is just a fledging group of sites that are getting an influx of users, while still trying to figure out both their instance, and cooperative rules that fit both their values and the wants/needs of their users. You want a well oiled machine, jump back into the mainstream where they use your data to personalize the adds they place between all the things you want to see. Or, you can go with the flow as this new ecosystem forms, sans ads, and free of data collection.

It’s fine if you’re not ready.
