It's ridiculous, its enabled by default on any new device you set up and sign in to. I could have missed turning off iCloud on my iMac, but I didn't have any problems before updating it, and then after I updated it I had iCloud full notifications, so I'm pretty sure it was off.

I'm gonna be honest, for Vaultwarden I don't. However, a local cached copy of the vault exists on all my devices that are signed in via the official Bitwarden client, and I have recovered using this method before, so that's my backup strategy.

I was feeling smug that being on LineageOS and now GrapheneOS for almost a decade I've never seen this.

..then I remembered my fucking iMac seemed to turn on iCloud photo backup last week after updating and next thing I know all the obsolete iPads I get from work are telling me how my iCloud storage is full

Seriously this iCloud shit is on by default, predatory ass tech companies. I'm pretty sure I disabled it on that iMac but it's so possible that my own device can gaslight me that I'm left unsure. It's off now and I spent an afternoon removing all those photos.

I just double checked and I have TOTP enabled for my PayPal account so it should be an option.

I just found this support article of theirs and it says it can only be enabled through their website and not through the app (why?!) so you might be running into that?

Yeah, I probably would have gone with that solution if I knew about it at the time, but now that I have Vaultwarden I'm pretty happy with it.

I ran into the same issue, I didn't want to use a cloud password manager because entrusting literally every password I have to a third party and on the internet sounds absurd to me. KeePass seemed like a good idea for me, but at the time I fell back to syncing the vault by sending it to myself in Telegram any time I made a change. Certainly not ideal

I now just have an RPi self hosting Vaultwarden with Tailscale, and for me that's been the best solution that keeps me happy; it's more secure as someone needs to compromise my Tailnet first, it's not public facing, I'm not trusting a third party to not lose my vault (a la LastPass), but its still convenient.

To add to this, I use an old iPad as a third monitor at work for Teams mostly. It's 1024x768 which seems to be the minimum supported resolution for Teams (except for some applets) and I don't need a good quality picture for Teams.

Unfortunately the app I've been using (TwomonUSB) seems to be no longer available for Windows download (CDN down), but this doesn't affect me personally as I still have the setup anyway.

Seconding Startech - I bought a DP to DVI-D adapter for my MacBook Pro and while it worked flawlessly with my PC, macOS was only showing me 1280x800 resolution instead of the monitor's full 2560x1600 resolution. I found that under Windows on Bootcamp it fully worked on the same hardware so it was clearly a macOS thing.

Emailed their support about it and within a day, got a guy who immediately gave me very technical and specific advice and suggestions, clearly very experienced. We weren't able to solve it (chalked it up to a weird macOS limitation and work gave me a different adapter that worked) but he was still incredibly helpful, and I'll have confidence in buying from them in the future that their support should be excellent.

How about this?

Captain Basculin: An Unconventional Leadership

Early Life and Ascension

Captain Basculin, an enigmatic figure whose rise to power is marked by unconventional policies and bizarre regulations, unexpectedly succeeded Vladimir Putin as the President of Russia. Despite the sudden and unexplained nature of his ascension, Basculin quickly established a reputation for his peculiar approach to governance.

Policies and Governance

Ceasefire and Peace Efforts

Basculin's initial policy focus was on establishing a ceasefire with Ukraine. His goal was to minimize conflict and loss of life, reflecting his broader inclination towards peace rather than warfare. This pragmatic approach was coupled with a unique personal ambition to enrich his Wikipedia page with a plethora of unusual facts.

Legislation on Physics and Gambling

In a series of unprecedented legislative actions, Basculin enacted and then repealed laws regulating the fundamental principles of physics, creating a temporary period where physical laws were suspended. He also introduced highly irregular gambling regulations, permitting gambling exclusively between 03:00 and 07:00, and banning it during all other hours.

Vice Presidential Appointment and Taxation

Under Basculin's administration, the Vice Presidential position was redefined with a policy inspired by Mann Co's CEO selection process: the position would be awarded to the victor of a one-on-one unarmed combat match against the incumbent Vice President. In an unconventional move to address tax evasion, Basculin redefined it as a taxable income source, provided evaders disclosed their methods to assist in future legal reforms.

Piracy and Open Source Software

Building on Putin's legacy of legalizing piracy, Basculin took a step further by openly funding open source piracy software. Developers involved in these activities were granted full-time residency and legal protection, creating a controversial yet distinctive facet of his governance.

Record-Breaking Wars

Basculin initiated a novel diplomatic strategy involving rapid conflict resolution. He brokered agreements with other nations to declare and end wars in record times, repeatedly breaking records for the shortest wars and fastest peace treaties. This approach extended to multiple countries, aimed at continually lowering these records.

Micronations and Antarctica

In a bold geopolitical maneuver, Basculin recognized all micronations worldwide except for those located around Antarctica. He also declared Antarctica as the territory of polar bears, dismissing all human territorial claims on the continent as invalid.

Legacy and Impact

Captain Basculin’s tenure was marked by a series of surreal and unconventional policies that have made a significant impact on international governance norms. His approach has both intrigued and bewildered observers, cementing his legacy as one of the most eccentric leaders in modern history.

Don't know if you'll see a lot of "no" replies, because I imagine if you're not happy with your username, you would've already done something by now like a new account.

I chose my username when I was a teenager and just kept with it since. The original meaning was that I'm a nerd, with both good and bad traits. It was also chosen with aspirations of being a YouTuber in mind and having something unique.

That being said, as I've matured I like to think that while I am a computer nerd, there's more to me than that single trait, so it may change in the future.
