It also means that lemmy will forever be less useful as an actual tool. You can not find nearly as many in-depth answers to topics by typing lemmy at the end of the search bar as reddit; and people will stay on reddit after they get the information they need because why go somewhere else. I understand that part of it is because reddit has been around for so long but I would think I could at least get linux questions answered here and I really can't

And for some reason it seems like half of all distro specific communities are on .ml
I agree however when you are joining they aren't exactly super informitive. Didn't even learn you could find put that information until a week after I joined.
I literally picked my mastodon instance because it had a really high character limit. There was basically nothing differentiating Lemmy instances besides vague things like values or who they were defederated with.
It also keeps people that join active for longer if there is a wider variety of content which comes from there being more members.
Oh yeah I agree that just getting a SSN is not a big issue itself but the fact that you can reverse engineer it from known information makes it not a very good security measure to prove identity.
That is only the main nestle products. They own so so many things that do not have the nestle brand name on them.
You can reverse engineer a good bit of an SSN if you just have someone's birth date and where they were born.
Also just getting more word a day is great for your vocabulary. Ive been reading a lot more lately and have noticed that the more I read even relatively simple books that my vocabulary has vastly expanded even in everyday life. Im much less often left searching for a word because I have likely seen it more recently.
My libra 2 breaking just after they were discontinued will forever be an unhappy event. I know the libra colour exists but I can not stand color e-ink screens.
