Holy run-on sentences. I agree with you, but it was done, it's already in the museums. Signing petitions and raising awareness of agencies/museums that are trying to get the stuff back is probably a better way to funnel your frustrations.

Just because Egypt is in Africa doesn't automatically make Egyptians black. Look at a map. Northern Africa and Egypt were just as much part of southern Europe and the Middle East.

Pretty sure the votes don't work on the ads. Why would they, every ad would get down voted into oblivion and not show up on people's feeds. It reminds me of the fake comments on Facebook ads. "Pre-ordered my shwami blankets, can't wait!"

More of their bullshitery. I had the audacity to use my browser to click a reddit link.

This is why I had to block them from my home feed. Way too many random posts that, because of the nature of the "rule", aren't very interesting.

My hope is that if enough people block an instance, it'll just die out over time from not enough interaction.

I just dropped Sync. I've used it for reddit since the app came out. Even paid for the premium version years ago. My purchase didn't carry over to the lemmy version, and I noticed the app collects data for marketing now. Switched to Voyager, it's not as fluid as Sync but I'll get used to it.

Isn't 'theft of intellectual property' taking someone else's work and try to pass it off as your own?

I think he's talking about similar communities from different instances. Like "books" on lemmy.world is separate from "books" on lemmy.ml. So people will end up migrating to the larger one for more users to share with. I feel like it's not a big deal since I can subscribe to all of them while being on a single instance.

I liked the fake internet points, but it definitely leads to karma whoring. So I'll do without.
