Just remember...when they say Let's Talk, what they are really doing is listening for those that need to be let go.

I had a similar situation with an employer. Went on mental health leave, came back to multiple brand-fucking new disciplinary actions, constant new barrage of changes, I disclosed my medical conditions and it got worse. Until I literally snapped. Couldn’t work, couldn’t function for 7 months after and I’m still not recovered.

And don’t get me started on what their messaging was about mental health.

Fuck all the talk, fuck not having room for humanity at work, fuck depression, and fuck bad things happening if someone’s brave enough to try and get help.

Had a bad situation with an employer that claimed to support people with mental health issues right in their job posting. They gave me more work by putting everybody else they wanted to get rid of on weekends and cut the amount of staff and made us all cover each other's jobs. In a call center where each job took at least a month of training. We were given a day's worth for each. Well I finally snapped after 6 weeks when I got literally yelled at by some vip for not knowing how to do a job where I wasn't trained in. And it wasn't like they weren't given warning. I had been talking to them trying to tell them I'm too stressed out to do this. My punishment for trying to reach out for support was for them to cut my pay but not the additional tasks they forced upon me. I walked out on them immediately after they punished me. This was a place that was toying around with not paying us for bathroom breaks. And I'm pretty sure working here hurt my chances at other job offers because I've had several interviewers see that company in my resume and roll their eyes when they ask about it because they've seen so many burnouts from that place they didnt want to risk another one.

Fuck this stupid fucking world. Fuck everything. I'm ready to just quit. There's nothing I can do to make my life enjoyable anymore. The game is rigged and they're not even trying to pretend it's not anymore.

Just remember...if you "quit", then they win. You have nothing left to lose, so rip that company off your resume and lie through your teeth. Do whatever it take to get that next job. They are all doing the same, so do it back out of spite. It's how I'm still going. Never underestimate the value of spite when it comes to your survival...

Therapy is capitalist "get back to work" propaganda for the vulnerable. Just say/do whatever they have to do to get you back on the job.

I just assumed it's the layoff signup form.

It's the employee surveillance line. If they ever need to let you go they'll just dig around in your file to find a good reason. Never trust someone on your employer's payroll to be in your corner over theirs.

So true. I had an EAP case and the therapist just wanted to stall at first to get his paid 5 sessions, and in the end to push to conclusion because he had his 5 sessions. It was terrible. Extremely commercial.

My wife was having issues directly related to (caused by) things at work, and she called their mental health line.

The number led to an automated system that forwarded you to somewhere else, and even though it was solidly in operating times and away from meal times, it went to a messaging system

She never got a call back. Nothing was ever mentioned again.

0/10, MAGNA does not care about it's employees or factory safety.

Anyone else here had their whole employee assistance program switched to Dialogue?

The companies that provide actual mental help is too damn rare. You may get some once you get burnt out, but that's basically a bandaid.

That's because under capitalism the optimal strategy is "work to extinction" because then they can't leave to work for another company.

I just left the employment of an opioid manufacturer. They are tripling down and spending to increase production. Good luck on your second bankruptcy in 5 years Mallinkrodt/SpecGX.
