General Discussion for politics in the UK.
Please don't post to both [email protected] and [email protected] .
Pick the most appropriate, and put it there.

Posts should be related to UK-centric politics, and should be either a link to a reputable news source for news, or a text post on this community.

Opinion pieces are also allowed, provided they are not misleading/misrepresented/drivel, and have proper sources.

If you think "reputable news source" needs some definition, by all means start a meta thread. (These things should be publicly discussed)

Posts should be manually submitted, not by bot. Link titles should not be editorialised.

Disappointing comments will generally be left to fester in ratio, outright horrible comments will be removed.
Message the mods if you feel something really should be removed, or if a user seems to have a pattern of awful comments.

[email protected] appears to have vanished! We can still see cached content from this link, but goodbye I guess! :'(

You guys should get back to EU

But this would require us admitting the brexit was a mistake, something that the British political class are entirely unwilling/unable to do.

Unless we abandon social media the Russo-American Axis will not allow us to rejoin.

The Kremlin has the institutional nowledge of influencing the masses and the American tech-bros have direct "feeds" into the minds of all voters throughout the west.

The Russo-American Axis are neither communist nor fascists. They are neo-feudalists who wish to return the world to a noble bloodline class system with neo-slavery of the vast majority of the world's population.

There is no chance of restoration of the UK to the EU not with the feckless and rudderless leadership government's throughout Europe are showcasing.

Reform is only up in the polls because the British voter instinctual know something is dangerously wrong with the world and they can tell that Labour is either ignorant of the danger or lying to them...

Reform is a dangerous populist movement built conartists, liars and foreign agents.

To save Europe we must tell the people the truth of the dangers we face.

Tis will galvanise thr people to endure the economic hardships that we must endure to defeat this Russo-American Axis.

Have no doubt, we will defeat this cabal of evil men. We will send their idealologies back to the dustbins of history and them straight to hell.

That would be lovely 😊 buuuut I certainly wouldn't trust us from the EU perspective.

The UK has it's "special relationship" with the United States; it's frequently touting it's past history with the US; and now suddenly it wants to access a EU defence programme through cash money?

If I were any one of the EU members, I'd be like "nah fella I don't think so, stop hanging round with your tosser mate and maybe we'll think about it"

Maybe, but if you look at the sounds and general tone from the EU in recent years it's a lot softer than what it was during the Brexit days. Maybe the war in Ukraine has refocused their minds but, like it or not, the UK is an asset when it comes to defence for Europe. That alone night be enough to ease the path back in.

I agree it isn't going to happen anytime soon given this government. But it has less to do with any US leaning than we like to think. With Hungary, Romania, Slovakia not exactly "on script" with denouncing Russian aggression and countries such as Ireland steadfastly refusing to participate in a European defence capability - as our orange clown prince is so fond of saying - the EU doesn't hold that many cards and needs all the help it can get.

The EU was always clear that the UK would be welcomed back as a valued member. There’s been no “softening” in that respect.

Perhaps our enemies are right...

And some day the Sun shall set upon the West..

But not this Day...

No, not this Day...
