We learn something new every day. This is a community dedicated to informing each other and helping to spread knowledge.

The rules for posting and commenting, besides the rules defined here for lemmy.world, are as follows:

Rules (interactive)

Rule 1- All posts must begin with TIL. Linking to a source of info is optional, but highly recommended as it helps to spark discussion.

** Posts must be about an actual fact that you have learned, but it doesn't matter if you learned it today. See Rule 6 for all exceptions.**

Rule 2- Your post subject cannot be illegal or NSFW material.

Your post subject cannot be illegal or NSFW material. You will be warned first, banned second.

Rule 3- Do not seek mental, medical and professional help here.

Do not seek mental, medical and professional help here. Breaking this rule will not get you or your post removed, but it will put you at risk, and possibly in danger.

Rule 4- No self promotion or upvote-farming of any kind.

That's it.

Rule 5- No baiting or sealioning or promoting an agenda.

Posts and comments which, instead of being of an innocuous nature, are specifically intended (based on reports and in the opinion of our crack moderation team) to bait users into ideological wars on charged political topics will be removed and the authors warned - or banned - depending on severity.

Rule 6- Regarding non-TIL posts.

Provided it is about the community itself, you may post non-TIL posts using the [META] tag on your post title.

Rule 7- You can't harass or disturb other members.

If you vocally harass or discriminate against any individual member, you will be removed.

Likewise, if you are a member, sympathiser or a resemblant of a movement that is known to largely hate, mock, discriminate against, and/or want to take lives of a group of people, and you were provably vocal about your hate, then you will be banned on sight.

For further explanation, clarification and feedback about this rule, you may follow this link.

Rule 8- All comments should try to stay relevant to their parent content.

Rule 9- Reposts from other platforms are not allowed.

Let everyone have their own content.

Rule 10- Majority of bots aren't allowed to participate here.

Unless included in our Whitelist for Bots, your bot will not be allowed to participate in this community. To have your bot whitelisted, please contact the moderators for a short review.

Well, it's not like they need to carry their own luggage

[–] [email protected] 24 points 1 week ago

Or that they’re limited on luggage space.

Their business is being on show. Not having a black outfit in case of a relative dying or some period of national mourning would be a case of you-had-one-job.

The royal family also travels with a spare sex slave in case the current one dies.

[–] [email protected] 40 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Prince Andrew keeps two at his summer cottage chained up just incase they try to run away again.

[–] [email protected] 15 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Idk man, then they age. Wouldn't he keep them on a rotational basis, considering, you know, the linear nature of time, at least to our consciousness?

[–] [email protected] 9 points 1 week ago

I believe the answer there is - two living at any given time.

[–] [email protected] 30 points 1 week ago (2 children)

Common misconception, they don't actually take their sex slaves with them, they acquire new ones at their destination.

[–] [email protected] 7 points 1 week ago

That just makes good financial sense and keeps things spicy.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 week ago

It's always in storage, in islands all over.

[–] [email protected] 6 points 1 week ago

Redundancy is so important that they keep a spare spare sex slave and assorted collection of anal beads.

Trump clearly doesn't, he came to Pope's funeral in blue suite...

[–] [email protected] 14 points 1 week ago

To be fair, he probably only has one suit that fits his fat ass. Not to mention the others are covered in bronzer stains.

We're not allowed to call him that anymore. He went by "the Artist" until his death. Man, fuck Warner Bros.

What where we talking about?

[–] [email protected] 5 points 1 week ago

I believe he started using Prince again since the start of new millenium

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 week ago (2 children)

Nah, he went back to calling himself Prince in 2000.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 week ago

One of my favorite SNL skits was them referring to him as "the artist formerly known as the artist formerly known as Prince."

@dogslayeggs
@Scipitie

IIRC it was a record label conflict, not unlike TS re-releasing her earlier works.

Quickest way to get Trump in a black suit is to start calling him “poor” and note that he doesn’t have a big enough entourage or money to also have a black suit. Reverse psychology works well on him and comparing him to others.

I always travel with black clothes because...fuck the State.

We are not the same.

[–] [email protected] 13 points 1 week ago

Michelle Obama says she does as well. I suppose a lot of people in the public eye do.

[–] [email protected] 11 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Love hearing facts about the rich!

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 week ago

/s or downvotes

[–] [email protected] 10 points 1 week ago (1 children)

I never travel with black clothes, because I never travel, and don't own any black clothes, because I never wear black, or attend funerals.

Turns out to be a pair of Google eyes in an alleyway.

[–] [email protected] 7 points 1 week ago

I so the same but instead of a black outfit it's a change of underwear. Some lessons are learned hard, and some are learned warm and wet.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago) (1 children)

Took me too long to realize that a "black outfit" isnt a bunch of people with black skin.

I wasn't sure how some Africans would be necessary in the subsequent PR campaign following a death

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 week ago

Lmao, we're all black on the inside. Smoking kills.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 week ago (1 children)

How frequently are they on holiday?

[–] [email protected] 9 points 1 week ago (1 children)

I think it rounds up to about 100% of the time

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 week ago

Exactly. So the probability of someone dying while you are on holiday also approaches 100%. So makes sense to keep that black suit handy.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

A blue one is also totally suitable for a funeral, just ask Donnie Orangeutan, he knows all about style and dignity. /s

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 week ago

I'll start doing that too.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 week ago

They read that that book about manifesting what you want and ever since it's been knives out.
