All of the mod tools are hidden in the three dots on/in posts. You need to be inside a post to do anything to it. The sidebar has everything else.

im apparently still mod of this community. i just am not sure how to have any controls that i don't have over any other post.

i've also been using connect on android if that helps. I switched to my phone's browser and then the laptop once shit hit the fan. no real difference.

You can edit the community sidebar by clicking on the edit icon above the sidebar.

To remove posts, click on the dots below the title to see your options. It's similar for comments.

To add another mod, find a comment of the user, click the dots to expand possible actions, then click on something like "make mod" or "add as mod".

When users make reports, you'll get a notification on the top right next to your other notifications, but reports have a shield 🛡️ icon instead of a bell.

Sorry I can't be more specific. I'm on Jerboa which doesn't seem to have mod actions.

Summit for Lemmy supports mod actions in the app. You can give it a try and see if you like it.

I don't know anything about mod and control.

AFAIK, Lemmy web ui has the most features related to mod. Photon web ui recently announced they have features parity to Lemmy web ui.

As to Connect, I do not know.

I'm not seeing any of the mod actions on connect, though I could have sworn they were there at one point.

Did you check the documentation? https://join-lemmy.org/docs/users/04-moderation.html

afaik, lemmy client apps do not support moderation tools so far
