Why did this have to be a traffic map?

When you live in a car dependent country where you have to drive literally everywhere, you're already mad.

But yes, I never turn off traffic in Google Maps.

Sir you need to turn on OpenStreetMap

Somebody once told me that croatia looks like a crocodile eating Bosnia and I've never been able to unsee it.

Serious question, what's it like on that ~4 km wide strip of land? It looks like a sleepy hamlet and not a heavy commercial loading dock

Pretty sure it's an incredibly popular tourist destination

The existence of this salient highlights the importance of not being landlocked.

salient

a piece of land or section of fortification that juts out to form an angle.

There's actually a Scandinavia and the World comic about exactly this 😁

Yeah it’s not a country blessed with tourist friendly beaches. Lots of shingle. Lots of coves. Amazing place though.

The snowy mountains are incredible! There’s a series of Shiey videos for B&H where he surfs trains, camps and does a pushbike ride through the mountains: https://redirect.invidious.io/watch?v=V9huXurs678

The Neum coast while being the only one belonging to BiH, most Bosnians travel nearly freely from the Herzegovina area to Croatia daily. From my experience, despite the country not being part of either the EU or Schengen, the border crossing is pretty lax and citizens don't need a visa to enter neighbouring countries.

If you are an EU citizen you don't even need a passport to enter or leave. Just an ID card.
