Hint: You have to read it as "Type O" not 0/Zero/Null. Took me quite long ;)
Do people say type (number) one/zero? I’ve always heard it as Type (Letter) O.
Cos you’ve got stuff like type A and B.
Wikipedia says:
It's either A, B, AB or none of it, so zero/null.
The Wikipedia quote is misleading - some European countries used zero/null but it was agreed that the prevailing usage should be the letter O.

Apparently, it was originally C and changed later, too.
Norway does a weird mix
Denmark uses zero
Haven't bothered looking up the rest of Europe, but the links to other languages on https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/ABO_blood_group_system are a mix of both O and 0.
