A24 movies have story? I just watch them for the haunting still life pans, dark synth, and general vibe.

Kinda a good fit for a FromSoft game. Lost of impressive visuals, action, and tons of clues about a story sprinkled throughout the game without actually telling a story.
A so called "tone piece" yeah, that's a good point.
They're great if presented as art pieces, but marketing tries to convince me that they're movies.
