Lol it's so weird, but like middle age art is also so weird.

I really do want to know the actual context to this painting. It's probably religious

Probably the baby Jesus coming to impart wisdom, or that's what the person who painted the picture wanted you to believe, so that you would take the subject's words as literal gospel.
