Big fan of thin sliced raw onion on hot sandwiches or grilled cheese. A single tomato slice is also super good with raw onion on sandwiches.

Learned that one from trips to southern Spain. Thin sliced Spanish onions with strong Manchego cheese on a bun ... the locals live on it.
