You can have some solace knowing the same happened during the Spanish Flu. The Dark Ages are much closer than they seem.

Funny name given that it didn't come from Spain but from the US (IIRC).

It was called that because Spain was the only country accurately reporting cases. So it made it seem like they had it the worst, even tho they didn’t.
