NYT loses even if they win.

While id love to see Openai forced to take a step back ai isn't going away.

Journalism will have to adapt or it will get replaced, just like so many jobs, including my own.

I bet that before the end of this year this tool will be one of the things that helped improve the performance and quality of AI.

People don't need an exchange either. Someone can create a physical paper wallet with no copy of its keys and who ever holds it owns it.

Organized crime has existed for a while, the boss rarely gets their hands dirty and the grunt isn’t involved and in the know enough about the bigger crime to be charged too harshly if their part in it was discovered.

I am inclined to agree, i believe that once society is able to fill everyone's needs and everyone can summon any ai vr experience they want crime will stop to exist, there would be nothing to gain from committing harm. But i fear the simulated role-play in the context of psychological torture, csam could lead to making dangerous people more confident before we get to that post-scarcity. Maybe you say chatgpt inst realistic enough for it now, but i will be soon.

training an LLM entirely by yourself with self curated text is beyond what is feasible, most ai researched today dont even know whats in all of the data they use. Its more then you can look at even with an extended lifetime and at best you can fine-tune a standard base model.

I am pretty sure its just to avoid controversy, look up the recent news about "laion" for an example, gpt4 isn't just text anymore, it can generate images also.
Altman talked about we may sometime all have our own personal AI's tailored to our own needs and sensitivities. But almost everyone has a different idea of if and where there should be a line.

The offering would also test the willingness of some Reddit users to back the company's stock market debut. Many investors posting on the platform have helped fuel dozens of "meme" stock rallies in the last three years.

Whatever nonsense the're implying here is twisted and awefull. Like they owe it to the platform?

The ideal is there but how do you imprison organizations that have more money, connections then some nations.

The moment big money gets involved governments stop upholding even themselves to the law. I work at a subdivision under some part of government and the amount of unpaid court ordered fines for human right violations is massive and increasing. The fines can't be paid cause there is no money. The problem causing the right violations can't be fixed cause there's no money. Yet government swims in money.

Ah i see what you mean, medically speaking you are indeed very correct but i feel like words like introversion (and even social anxiety) have grown allot in public use where they are understood beyond the stricter scope of a medical diagnosis.

I wont use semantics to argue actual science but i do often consider that scientific definitions can and do evolve just like language. I fit quite a few criteria and have more then one diagnosis, yet i experience nuance beyond the strict definitions. I know many social events that are draining, and some that give energy, Many social settings i have anxiety about, and some where i am confident.

Thats “po-tay-to po-taa-to” if you have social anxiety to be fair. A bit like saying smart people instead of scientist.

Also one can have a phobia or struggle with the challenge phones have of being live audio without visual ques, without having any other anxiety for live socializing.
