In case your referring to me, full disclosure.

I bought €10 bucks of dogecoin all the way back in 2013. Thats the only time i ever did annything remotely close to ”investing”

I still have them and while i initially dreamed of using them to buy a gaming pc, i am a working adult now and the novelty of the coin is worth more then that. Regardless no tech store accepts doge as currency.

I never cared about any other crypto, if the point is to sell them for classical money then what is the point of it.

The price has remained a stable price of 1 Doge = 1 Doge regardless of Elon trying to wreck the system so i remain very happy with my purchase.

I once hopped cryptocurrency was going to end capitalism, democratize the financial system and help redistributing wealth. Instead it became yet another stock to gamble on.

Self hosting means the server is run by you on your home network. Its kinda bizar not to know this as a Plex user?

Are we talking about the same Plex to watch media?

A good way of knowing who is hosting is looking where the media files are coming from.

  • Stored on your own pc, nass or server: you are self hosting.

  • You connected to a url/ip adress a friend gave you. Someone else, maybe your friend is hosting for you.

Jellyfin is Plex but Foss (free open source), which instantly makes it superior in my book. Highly recommend those who have yet to pick.

Any app that runs within your browser is technically selfhosting. Its not just run on pc but accessible by all devices connected to your home network.

You may assume that self hosting exposes to the internet ,which is the intended use case, but unless you portforward the ports it all remains local and safe.

AR Tablets for technicians

Some very novel jobs where you need to be at a computer but also like to see the person in front of you? For the sake of transparency so the client can follow a bit?

I am just guessing. Transparent screens as tech are very promising for AR, imagine a technicians tablet with this? But a laptop… more a novelty.

He admitted to still use them but other then that nothing in his comment implies he does. So i have to wonder where this reaction is coming from.

Even if people use a system daily, if they dont make the rules they have every right to complain.

As an autist i can it agree more, understanding something is a requirement for me to do well.

So much of my struggles in school where based on using formulas without knowing why or whats behind them, not understanding the broader practical implications and intended goals of assignments, i was just told to just do them, the way it is asked with the formulas i was given (or was forced to remember). Lost motivation, my will to live even, spiraled and crashed hard in the end.

I got better, now i am sitting here scribbling all kinds of math in my little black book as a way to relax. I dont watch “tv” but i wont miss a kurtzegesagt or a veritasium.

I inherently love science, in major contrast to my later high school grades.

isn't that very much depending on the exact technology and material used?

With google being the partner i bet the deal wont mention they cant use older backups of reddit that they most certainly have.

I know but it remains applicable to llm in general with is what worries most people when they read ai. And it is bot unlikely politician, doctors may be using those soon.

Machine learning as a tool for science is as safe as science or ai gets.

I got soft locked a long time ago and was limited to lurk on the appolo app, that was my first step away from that place.

If i wanted to delete id have to recover it first…

This article will be aged junk in 3,2 …

I get that the article is about user count but that really is about perceived usefulnesses and also more decent ai competitors to chatgpt pro.

They literally only just released text to video which they say will be used as a foundation for agi reasoning.

They have also hinted that training on gpt5 has begun and that it will be faster to train then gpt4

Just before that google came out with a new model that can keep track off 10 mil tokens, beats gemini pro and is also much faster to train. Gemini pro is barely a month old

This will not be a quite year for ai, if theres any flatline its going go be vertical, googles progress nearly is. Most ai progress benefits the entire industry over time.
