The problem is that I’m pretty sure that whatever benefits AI brings, they are not going to trickle down to people like me. After all, all AI investments are coming from the digital land lords and are designed to keep their rent seeking companies in the saddle for at least another generation.
However, the drawbacks certainly are headed my way.
So even if I’m optimistic about the possible use of AI, I’m not optimistic about this particular stand of the future we’re headed toward.
I’m going to get stoned for suggesting this in this community, but if your upstream is poor you should consider hosting it outside. Of course this depends on many things.
The most obvious solution is to have an alias for both ways to actress the service, and configure the service accordingly. It needs a bit of care to set up reverse proxies and certificates and everything but it makes it clear whether you want to connect to the inside or the outside version. Obviously this means that it won’t switch automatically when your connection changes, but that is a feature.
Another option is to keep doing what you’re doing and just is the tunnel.
The final way is just to keep it inside and use something like zero tier or tailscale.
Split DNS is a huge source of headaches. Be really sure that this is the route you want to go. It can easily lead to really weird situations and hard to diagnose errors.
Then again, there are a lot of “hahaha fat people are funny because they are fat lol lol lol” jokers that desperately need some better material.
You can have both, but you can’t have a functional mobile experience.

A case in point was using reg dishwashing soap in a dishwasher (I told them all not to). They couldn’t really find anything on Google so they just said it was fine.

The main predictor of cable wear is whether people are using the phone while the cable is attached.
If you just leave it to charge they will last for u years. If you continue to use them while they are charging, life span of the cable is measured in weeks.
