I think we should pursue it for the future, but it shouldn't be taking funding that could be used for more immediate solutions or used as a distraction / delay tactic (although of course it will).

Systems themselves are all around 5-20W, although the ones with mechanical HDDs obviously add their own idle usage.

Near 100% since Wine isn't a hardware emulator. But it depends on how well the software is supported, and CAD has historically been a sore point (but it may be better these days).

There aren’t really any good platforms for artists.

There's bandcamp, but it's not really a streaming platform per se.

Even Xiaomi are getting rid of the MicroSD slot now (and the headphone jack). At least onboard storage has been starting to increase again, although it's not close to the amount a SD slot can provide.

I'll add the old school method of scrobbling to last.fm for discovery still works pretty well too, and you can play music directly there now using Youtube (probably been there for years I assume). Just found some pretty obscure stuff that isn't even available on the mainstream streaming services, so that's a win.

Ideally, do the picking with a random word generator too, since humans are bad at randomly picking anything.

Wine does do DirectX as well (and did well before DVXK and VKD3D-Proton were a thing). But it translates to OGL instead of Vulkan so it was always relatively slow and has issues with compatibility. There's also some other built in work to translate to Vulkan (including the original VKD3D), but they are behind the third party projects too.

He's an unhinged anti-vaxxer and all around conspiracy theorist. Summarizing him as an environmental lawyer is being real generous.

Carbon prices and other incentives and disincentives can help accelerate this, and renewable tech and green(er) manufacturing will play into this too. I suspect (and hope) the decline in oil usage will happen well before we run low on it.

First one, then the other. Keep semi-regular contact, but don't spend every waking moment on the news or social media, as you aren't gaining much additional actionable information that way.
