And while the AnandTech staff is riding off into the sunset, I am happy to report that the site itself won’t be going anywhere for a while. Our publisher, Future PLC, will be keeping the AnandTech website and its many articles live indefinitely. So that all of the content we’ve created over the years remains accessible and citable.

This is such a big thing. Losing access to content is something we’re seeing en masse and future historians and hobbyists greatly appreciate having historical articles accessible and not lost to the sands of time. I think it would be even better if we could all torrent and archive as well, but accessibility and continued access is appreciated.

Sure, we could go to four blades next, like the competition. That seems like the logical thing to do. After all, three worked out pretty well, and four is the next number after three… Why innovate when we can follow? Oh, I know why: Because we're a business, that's why!

I thought this was fake or a bad result or something, but totally just duplicated it. Wow.

If you read the block of text…. It doesn’t make sense either.

Elon could have spun off Tesla’s AI (FSD) into a separate company or created a new AI company that Tesla uses for their FSD. Instead, he’s pivoting Tesla, a fairly successful, if troubled car company that uses AI, away from producing cars. Why? I mean, this is consistent with his firings and division layoffs, but it seems like a dumb decision from the board’s/investors point of view.

We used turbo pascal in school in the early 90’s. And it had assembly blocks… which I used copious amounts of because it was the only way to make the IBM PS/1’s do useful graphics.

I’ve sent in ~50 letters to my reps and none have had even a canned response. They really don’t care.

I have mice that I bought 35 years ago that still work. I had to replace the buttons on one I got 20yrs ago, but it’s a daily driver and the switches are hella cheap and like a 5min solder job. Make them socketed and it’s now a forever mouse. Done.

… and they’re passing a bill to revoke car companies access to data and make collecting and sharing data illegal and add steep fines if any are found to collect it in the first place, right? Right?

Come on, these are the people at can do something about it, but they’re just going to be paid off and nothing will change.
